Actually, I'm just awasting time waiting until it's late enough to phone my carpenter guy this morning- cabinets were SUPPOSED to be ready Wednesday; I patiently waited until Thursday to phone, but he was in Seattle, and was supposed to phone me this morning.

Hope everything goes alright! So, are your cabinets painted and stained already?

Lucky you! Post pics when they finish.
Mine was suppose to installed today but received a call yesterday, that they delayed until Monday. The flu has been going around with the workers.

Yes.... FORGET any Poly coats!!! * From a technical standpoint, paint needs to fully cure before "trapping" it under a sealing coat(s) of Poly!!! * Depending on many home-environment factors, and the paint/color ITSELF, proper curing CAN sometimes be a MONTH. * Poly-coating done too soon can lead to wrinkling, cracking, etc. of the paintcoats. Yep- Chipping is almost inevitable. The better the paint and prep, the lower the odds of it happening though... Faron

cword- we have a quartz plaster and our pool builder uses an acid bath to expose the crystals. However, with us they had to neutralize the acid due to a huge (and I do mean huge-think 6K gallons of water overnight) leak we were dealing with so that the divers could work on the pool. We kept brushing while this was resolved over a few days and when they wanted to put the acid back in I asked them not to because I felt the quartz was already exposing nicely. It really is quite sparkly in the sun and only had about a 12 hour acid bath. The brushing is key and we followed that routine for the first week or two. Our plaster is very smooth overall. Such a beautiful kitchen! Love, love, love your granite. The movement in it is great. So pretty! Your kitchen layout is similar to mine (yours is a smidge bigger). However, I just could get a glimpse of what my kitchen will look like in hopefully a month or so. Thank you! You helped me visualize! Right down to the flor. light box being removed. Can't wait. Now I am getting excited! Love your door handles. Who makes them?

Sorry, guys! The granite was installed Friday morning but I had to give my computer to the IT Department Friday afternoon due to a computer problem. Just got it back tonight. So rather than post all the pics and story here, I'll just give you the link to my blog.

Remember, my house is still under construction and won't be ready for another month or so. So everything is dusty and dirty and no, I didn't sleep in the kitchen!
