Actually I have a 2-1/2" on master bed, 2" on guest bed, & 2" on bed in motorhome..all at 4Lb. density, that is what is important, would never again be without memory foam toppers even on new mattresses, they are heavenly, got all of mine from O but got mine before they went to Serta, mine are Tempur-Pedic/ Visco, which they carried before Serta, all sizes were same price so I went bigger then needed and cut to fit with elec. knife, left over can be used for throw pillows etc.

Thanks, Susie. I noticed that they have several different brands and some seem to be a no name brand, so I'm not sure how to tell if one is any better than the other. I'll have to see if each one lists the density. We used to have a cheap mattress with a memory foam and then we bought a super expensive mattress with the pillow top on both sides. My husband liked the feel of the memory foam better.

Whatever one you get it needs to be five pound density to reach the quality of the Temperpedic. Less density makes it more mushy. I bought all of mine (7)on Ebay. It was so nice as they were delivered right to my door. I once found one on Overstock too but it cost more. I think you'd enjoy a 3 inch size. It's good for back sleepers and side sleepers. I got one 4 inch as I have a bad back and the dr. suggested it. If you Google Viscous foam you'll find many also.

We've had our memory foam toppers from O. for a year now. Wow--what a difference! I'd been having arm and shoulder pain for a couple of years and couldn't figure it out. After a few months sleeping on the memory foam, the pain just disappeared. For weeks after getting the toppers (I eventually put them on all the beds), hubby would lay in bed saying "I just love our bed" because of how comfy it was now....

I got Serta, 2 inch at 4 lb density.

We had a 3 inch for several years and then got rid of it. It was just too hot except in the winter and even then we sometimes have to run our AC.

I did a lot of research on true memory foam before purchasing, it was invented by NASA...and it adjust to your body temp. an it works I am always warm, Dh always cold but in bed just about perfect! and it perfectly aligns your body so no pressure points, have never seen 5Lb. density but mine is Tempurpedic at 4 Lb. density, have it prob. 4 years at least and it is exactly same as when we got it, and we are no light weights by any stretch of the imagination..we also got the Q pillows not core filled but solid mem foam and a real pillow not contured,we love our bed too, first thing Dh say's as we climb in is..."Hello bed" a friend is so sorry she got a pillowtop mattress, right before she discovered mem foam, I talked her into the pillows after spending a fortune on pillows for years and still having neck pain/headaches, now she takes it with her when she travels, and don't anyone try to take it away from her...LOL NO more pain! You can not beat the prices at O in any stores, you will simply get ripped off..

I got mine last year when somebody on here said that O had the memory foam pad that were cool temp on sale. I jumped on the sale and we love it. I read that in order to suspend your body it needs to be at least 3 inches. I googled them to learn about them before I bought them. That's what I got. It has made such a difference to me- I have severe spinal arthritis and now I have a lot less pain(without meds).And it doesn't add extra heat- with my personal summers I dont need more.

cooperbailey - What do you mean by "cool temp"? Does it keep you from getting hot like mpwdmom mentioned.

Yes it was marked that way. I do have the regular( thin) mattress pad over it too. I can't remember someone here was talking about it last year so I bought one. I don't remember the brand, it was from Overstock.I haven't seen any that say that for awhile. Sorry I don't remember more.
