I hope I remember this correctly but I thought I read at the time that Carolyn's family was very private and did not want her burial plot to become a tourist attraction.

Her family may have a family plot, but it's not THAT high profile.

if Wikipedia is right, she's doctor's daughter (her mom worked in the NYC school system as an administrator), and grew up in Greenwich, CT (though she wasn't born there)--which is an affluent community, but not necessarily an indicator of a high-profile family.

She worked as a model and a publicist--that doesn't automatically mean "high profile"

Now that you mention it, it is strange why they were all burried at sea. If it were my children I would want a place to go and visit and place flowers.

I would think that because they died in the water maybe they felt it was appropriate to 'bury them at sea'. And, the sisters were probably very close so why not buried them together (especially since they also died together). I guess the single sister could have laid next to Aunt Mildred and cousin Pete or even by herself in a nice plot, but I would bet she would prefer to be buried with her sister. I remember thinking it seemed odd at the time too, but the more I thought about it the more I thought it wasn't all that weird and was probably the best thing to do.

I honestly don't spend one moment of time wondering about things like this. It drives me crazy how the media shoves the most mundane details of a famous person's life down our throats.

Do people really care? really? Because it just amazes me that regular people would even think about things like this.

I wish people would leave the Kennedys alone. They've been high profile for over 40 years.
