When making tea and dunking the tea bag to make it steep faster....let GO of the little tag before you walk away to do something else.

I made a mess on the floor, dripped tea on the dog (she is fine, not burned - she got a drip or two from the dangling tea bag in my hand. But not happy with me right now either LOL), stained my socks, and the very edge of my jean pant leg is damp which drives me CRAZY.

Any other notes you would like to share?

Are you sure it wasn't that old lady I've read about here that might have done that? You're too young to be doin such things.

Sounds like that old lady wasn't happy with just messin with those of us who are er, more mature. Now she's messin with the youngens. Mean ole biddy.

I gave up on the spray bottle of liquid fence years ago and have always bought concentrated and put it in a pump sprayer. I also found that if i mixed it by the instructions it would clog the sprayer. I now mix with a touch more water and it still keeps deer and critters away and it does not clog sprayer. It helps with no dribbling down my hand which is gross! I have to spray so many shrubs/plants the pump sprayer is sooooo much quicker and easy on my trigger finger! LOL! I have found it smells pretty gross for a day and then dissapates. I try to spray in the evening after I‘m done working in the garden for the day.

I haven't tried since the fried chicken thing (to be honest I haven't even cleaned the waffle iron since then, though I did scrape the counter). I finished all the frozen ones, so it will be time again soon. You have me wanting chocolate chip pancakes instead... it's been years! While I'm sure it was a lot of elbow grease to clean, I'm glad you didn't also open the thing up halfway through the cooking time. You'd probably have thrown it away and gotten a new one rather than cleaned a disaster like that.

Thanks for the freezing tip, Lars. I hadn't thought about doing that (I don't exactly live in the citrus capital of the world so I've never had excess to even remotely start worrying about). Based on the amount of white stuff between me (front door) and the road, I won't be going anywhere for a couple of days until I can shovel out. I don't dare let DH do it with his bad back. Ruthanna, thanks for the Lime Chicken recipe. I think I only have one or two chicken thighs in the freezer, but I will try that recipe for sure when I can get out to the store. I'd love to make Key Lime Pie, but DH doesn't eat it. Problem is I could/would eat one all by myself - I've put on way too much weight this winter already :-( I am having a wedge of lime in my Corona tonight. Gosh, they are delicious. Jasdip, sometimes I feel that my indoor plants (bay, lemons, limes, lemon grass, rosemary, parsley, cilantro, etc.) are the only thing that keep me optimistic from November 'til April. Nothing like the smell of freshly harvested herbs and fruit in February. A very huge thank you, everyone, for the ideas!

I got the curly hair story with burnt toast. That was back in the days when we didn't have pop-up toasters. By the way, if the crayons get forgotten in a pocket and you wash the clothes, and maybe even dry them, rewashing them with baking soda helps remove the crayon. However, it has been so many years ago this happened to me, I don't remember the amount of baking soda - probably half a box at least. My babies are 54, 52 and 50.

Made a nice big breakfast Sunday for family before they left.....pancakes from scratch, sausage, fried eggs, etc. As I was transferring the eggs to a plate, it kept on transferring....right on the floor. Their cocker, Lola, was there in a trice to eat it. (By the way, what is a trice??) DIL held the dog, while wiping up my mess.

Note to self: when making the 6 cup pot of tea, don't forget the tea bags, thereby not being disappointed later when pouring the tea and finding only hot water in the cup.

Phyllis, a trice is the exact amount of time between eggs beginning a transfer slide and a cocker's nose picking up the scent. Common knowledge. :0)

... for the dog was *there"* in a trice, wasn't it?

Granted, a dog following a scent can move pretty fast!

That old bitty has been at my house too! searched high and low this morning, as my fresh homemade pancakes went from hot to cold, for the pancake syurp...had to serve cold pancakes with grape jelly (different) then, while cleaning up, I found that pancake syurp under the sink next to the Joy liquid! I'm still scratching my head after that one! just glad no guns in the house....she could be dangerous! Oh darn it, Hide the knives!

Bestlawn, I had to laugh! I think that is one of the most unusual "substitutions" I've heard LOL

OldRustybucket...next time you're out of syrup (or can't find it!) try heating the jelly in the microwave to make syrup. Or make it the old fashioned way with sugar, water, & maple flavoring. Of course, it'd help if you now ahead of time that you need to come up with a sub! Enjoy!

Last summer, we were too lazy to cook so we ordered a pizza. DH dropped his slice on the floor. He yelled at the dog, who ran straight for it. I yelled at him for planning to pick up and eat food that's been on the floor. I do not believe in The Five Second Rule.

Also, don't allow kitty cat on counter next to stove while steeping the tea as she finds the white tags attached to the strings fascinating!!
