Here's another vote for chrome. I have it as a finish on my faucet at our lakehouse where we have soapstone countertops and sink. I think it looks timeless and don't have any problem with upkeep. I have had "chrome look" fixtures in my bathrooms which were hard plastic with a silver finish and they were a nightmare to keep nice looking. They were always spotty and the finish rubbed off if you tried to clean any grime off them. If it's real chrome you shouldn't have problems. I have a stainless sink in my kitchen here at home and went with a stainless faucet (installed about 7 yrs. ago, before I knew of this forum.) Wish I'd gone w/ chrome here, too, as the 2 stainless finishes are different in hue, and it has always bugged me.

OK, I called a plumbing showroom that has Grohe and they went and checked, and ALL sprayheads are plastic. I called Delta Brizo and they checked and said the inside of the sprayhead is plastic but it is wrapped in metal, so the part you see and touch is metal, not plastic on their sprayhead. They said it is to keep the weight down. I then called Newport Brass Tech support who told me the sprayhead on the 94P is solid brass with a chrome finish or other finish depending on what you order, and the only plastic on the sprayhead is the face where the water comes out. Although I like the less "bulky" look of the Newport Brass and it is supposed to be a very good solid brass brand of faucets, it has the worst warantee it seems on its finishes, and excludes hard water damage, which I have. It is the only solid metal spray head. I guess between the Grohe and the Brizo, depends on where you want your plastic, inside or outside. I suspect, but don't know, that Grohe probably has the best warantee and customer support. I am also concerned about the reach so that it is easy to use, but also which might cause less splashing. I would think a longer reach would be better on the back, but with the drain at the back, a shorter reach would more likely place the spout directly over the drain and maybe decrease splashing. That is why I am interested in anyone who has any of these, but it would be especially helpful if anyone has this sink with one one these particular faucets. Sue

Looks great. We paired chrome faucets (Kohler Promaster, Pegasus bar faucet) with brushed SS Franke sinks. Frankly, when everything matches too much, it looks a bit bland. You want the bit of shine of chrome to offset all that SS you have in your kitchen, especially if the appliances are brushed SS. I even used polished SS pulls and knobs with the above combo, and a brushed SS backsplash with the SS appliances (quartz counters, natural cherry cabs/no stain, and natural maple floors/no stain). It all comes together, believe me. When you're in the middle of planning and construction, you'll find yourself worrying about the tiniest details, then laugh at yourself a year later. Even if you make a slight "mistake", you'll find a way to pull it together or cover it. I don't mean to minimize your feelings at all, but in the end, it's just a kitchen. You'll understand what I mean a few years down the road when you're far enough away emotionally from the renovation.

Now you're getting into the design aesthetics of the kitchen. How important is it for you to have that specific tap. If you plan on it being a show piece then you have to show it off and putting it underneath cabinets in a cramped position is not going to do it. If you want to show it off - then raise the cabinets which makes sense anyway, and put glass doors in them OR put some higher open shelves above the sink - maybe 2 of them. Then you are creating a focal point for the tap. If the storage is more important than the tap then I would suggest a lower tap to avoid the cramped feeling. But raising the cupboard level over the sink is a good idea to avoid bumping your head and the claustrophobic feeling which may develop.
