I have always loved these Campaign side tables, so much that I bought the bronze ones below off ebay because I didn't want to spend the $300 or so for the RH ones.

Well, last night I saw the floor samples were on sale. Didn't take me too long to decide to buy them. With my employee discount they cost just over $200 for both! DH is not thrilled (where will we put them?) but I think they will go great in any number of places, esp. in my LR where I have the round ones now. Besides, who can't use another side table?

This is a test case pic as I have been unable to upload pics of my garden rhodies into Gardenweb. For all the problems that most folks seem to have, nothing's perfect in this life. Mardi Gras for instance was severly battered as an 80' oak went down in a squall some 5 years ago. Crushed a dogwood, obliterated Rh. Goldflimmer, etc, but things survive, they come back, though in Mardi Gras' case, it still has yet to retain the vigor pre-crash. This was last year's shot which also includes hellebores, and tiarella.

How did you install the mirror? Did you screw directly into a stud? Or did you use the drywall mounting devices provided? Or did you purchase your own mounting devices? I have the similar Pottery Barn pivot mirror. The mirror was quite heavy and larger than RH pivot mirror you selected. I used the provided drywall mounting devices with the exception of one screw that could fit into a stud. They were very sturdy metal screw in style that should hold a lot of weight compared to the flimsy ones you typically get with towel bars or for hanging family pictures. Three screws were used per side. These types of drywall mounting devices have specific weight ratings on what they can hold. Considering the popularity of these items and the liability PB and RH could incur, I trust that they have done their proper research and provided appropriate mounting devices to support the weight of the mirror. If we err on the side of heavy, assuming the mirror weighs 65lbs (I suspect it's more like 50lbs or less), then each bracket would only need to hold 10.83lbs. I do not think you have anything to fear. I have no concerns about this mirror falling on my head (or worse yet - damaging my marble countertop!). If you still feel concerned, you should call up RH and ask what the weight rating is on the drywall mounting devices they provided for installation of the mirror.

johnliu, I'm sure I'll be finding out, and I haven't made sushi in quite a while, now I need to get busy and make some. dcarch, I have no idea what those characters mean, I'm only assuming it's complimentary. (grin) As for the source of the auction items, the people who run it allow private sellers to take a photograph and write a description of their item to be auctioned, and the auction company keeps a percentage. I've seen items from a child's potty chair to tractors to "a box of awesomeness", LOL. It's easy to find, jnjonlineauction dot com. In addition to the private sellers, the company and/or agents/sellers buy estate items, store liquidations, the items in abandoned/unpaid storage units, etc. This week there are 2,000+ items up for auction and many of them are complete junk, many are firearms and ammunition, and a few are real gems. Those tables look very nice in your living room.

I got 2 square ones. Love them!

The LR is not quite as finished as above. I photoshopped in all the lighting, the future glass door to a patio and the moulding to the DR (currently used a a family room) needs to be added.

A girl can dream though...

I have been wondering what those were called! I couldn't find anything close to save my life, and I have been looking for a while now.

I did a search for "Campaign side table" and didn't hit anything on eBay. Do you remember what you searched under?

Need a cheap knock-off for an idea I have, but don't want to spend too much incase it doesn't work like it does in my mind.

Paint chips, on ebay I recall finding them by using "french side table metal restoration hardware" or a combo of those words. The only other place I saw something similar was a very chic online decor boutique site and I might have used that description as well. I will look it up in my ebay after I pick up my DD.

Paint chips, you too! My pleasure for finding them for you, I know how happy I was when I found them last year. They are only 15 inch round, so they are just big enough for a book, coffee or wine, maybe a small lamp too.

I always thought if I got a stone remnant or mirror cut to fit the table top, and glazed the bronze a little bit the tables would be even more fab.

Putting them together was fairly simple, and they are sturdy metal.

Soshh, you read my mind about the stone...

I showed the picture to my mother and she suggested replacing the top with one of those oh-so-common cheese boards. I thought that was a brilliant idea.

Oh, like those round marble ones? Yeah, if you could find a 15 inch circular one it would be perfect! Have fun with it!

Because it's metal it would probably work for a mosaic too. So many ideas...
