Pork chops, fried taters, spinach.

I was stuck indoors for 8 days this time. Finally had a clear path to my car so I went out to run errands and visit my special needs sister. I stopped on the way there, bought a VDay bag and filled it with things she likes, such as: tablets, cards, circle a word (she can't read but she surely does know how to 'circle'), a small stuffed animal that when you squeezed it, its nose lit up and it says "I missed you", and lots of etcs. She loved it all.

Now, Patti, here's my Wendy's coupon story. I took the one for buy anything and get free sm chili, and the one for chili cheese fries with same deal. I asked if I could use both at once as long as I made a purchase of two other items at reg price. She wasn't sure but manager overheard and told her that as long as I made TWO valid non-coupon purchases, I could use both freebie coupons.

So for my meal tonight, I had a cod sandwich (full price) and free chili cheese fries.....glad they were free as I didn't like them. And my full price baked potato, along with my free chili is in the refrigerator.

Just got back from walking with Georgy. Today we left at 4:15 so we could get our whole walk in. It's still slightly light out. Unless I'm going to walk the streets, I need the light. The golf course is too dark as are the walking paths. I had a meeting and lunch today and then did some grocery shopping. Before I knew it, it was 4:00 p.m. I'm having blackened cat fish, roasted broccoli and red peppers. Nothing exciting but low in calories. I don't think DH will want fish so I'm going to heat up the other half of my pastrami sandwich for him I also brought home the cole slaw. That's it for tonight.

Shirley, I just want to say I think your sister is lucky to have such a thoughtful sister as you are. I think we will just have grilled cheese tonight. We are going to watch our niece play in a championship basketball game tonight.

Angelaid, that sounds good! I just love fried potatoes. Do you use already cooked potatoes? I have better luck that way, but mother always made them from raw and they were brown and crispy (probably because she undoubtedly fried them in either lard or bacon fat). Woo hoo!

Wow, Shirley! Such a deal!! We didn't care for the chili cheese fries all that much, but we at them anyway. At least I know now I can bring my fries from a restaurant home (thank you, Sue) and make my own. I love the gift to your sister. Pam is right, you are the bestest sister ever.

Georgysmom, I bet Georgy enjoyed his walk. Standard poodles are so rare these days, it seems. Bet he gets a lot of attention when you're out and about. I need to concentrate more on watching the fat content in our dinners. Fish seems the easiest way since we both love it.

Pam, good luck to your niece and team in the game tonight. Are you going to the game, or is it on TV?

Today was our garden club meeting, I gave a presentation on Hydrangeas, then we had a new activity, we told stories from our past.
There were some really funny ones. Then we all went out to lunch together. An excellent day.

Tonight we are having the last of the tilapia, steamed broccoli, and a salad.

Patti, I have been craving strawberries and cake. Yummy! The ham sliders sound great too.

Shirley, we didn't care for Wendy's chili fries either. They were just a soggy mess.

Pam, I had grilled cheese for lunch. :)

I've been working on papers and presentations all day, so we're having something easy tonight. Pan friend chicken/apple sausages, white cheddar mac 'n' cheese, and a green salad.

Raven, hydrangeas are my favorite flower. Especially the blue ones. They grow really well in Georgia and last a long time. Sure did enjoy them when we spent our summers in the mountains up there. They don't do too well here in Florida. Telling old stories from our past would make a great post for the KT. Bet we all have some doozies!

Alice, come on down. We have plenty and love to meet KT'ers. But--your dinner sounds pretty darned good, too!

WE had two doctor appointments and I forgot to get the eggnoodles for my husbands favorite meal. We did stop and buy some cornmeal so that I can make some suet for my birds.On the back of the cornmeal package was a recipe for ham and cornbread casserole. It was different, but good.

Thanks for the kind words about me with my sister. I get so much joy out of doing for her.....then to see/hear her delight repays me much more than you could know. She told me today that she sent me a birthday card in the mail this week. They'd told her to keep it a secret but she couldn't help but tell me.

There is a very kind volunteer that comes out one afternoon a month. She spends her own money for cards, stationery, stamps, and donates her time to sit with any resident that wants her.........and she sends cards, writes letters, for them. And she doesn't use cheapy cards........most are Hallmark quality. There are still nice people out there in the world.

Sandie, I know what you mean about appointments. One is more than enough. Harry goes to VA so they try to bunch his appointments up, which I appreciate since we pay. But it sure makes for a long day.

Shirley, yes there are nice people in this world and you're right up there with the best. And, of course she couldn't keep it a secret about the card. That probably made her a lot happier than it will you when you receive it.

Got off work on time today - hurray! Been working lots helping get ready for our new software implementation plus dealing with my dad. I think this is the first meal I've cooked from scratch in about three weeks. Went to visit my dad for a little while after work. We moved him to a specialized Alzheimer's facility near us a couple of weeks ago.

Tonight we're having 15-bean soup and a salad with spinach, pears, blue cheese, almonds & ginger balsamic vinaigrette.

Kittiemom, hope your schedule settles down soon. That must be hard on you even if you love your job. All work and no play--'ya know? Glad your dad is in a safe place and close enough for you to check on him.

Hope you enjoyed your dinner, Glenda. I'm sure it must've been good if it's in B'ham :-) I swear, it just doesn't seem fair that one town got so many good restaurants and we just get the chains around here!!

I was busy today getting phone numbers and everything ready to arrange my Dad's graveside service in May. He died on Monday morning just 5 days shy of his 92nd birthday.

I also worked on our itinerary for our trip to Florida and beyond. We will leave here on March 15 and I have lots to do to get ready in time.

Our weather today was gorgeous in the upper 60's with lots and lots of sunshine.

Dinner tonight was pork chops on the grill, mashed potatoes, squash and applesauce.
