Sounds like so much fun. I wish my first outing with a CF'er would've been more enjoyable. It was most certainly NOT the company of doucanoe however! She was charming. I had a gall stone that was lodged in the opening of my GB and I had to cut the outing short because the pain was overwhelming. I hope there are more outings in the future! At the time I felt so guilty for leaving, but once hospitalized realized it could not be helped. :-)

I remember many, many years ago (in the 70's??) having breakfast at the original Brown Palace Hotel--white cotton tablecloths and real silver service, SOS served out of a silver bowl. Oh my, what memories!! Hope your breakfast was as memorable.

Then, of course, on the other side of the tracks. Breakfast at Lakewood Bar and Grill--SOS there too, and scrambled eggs with homemade green chili sauce. Chili rellenos with that same sauce at lunch. I burp remembering it!

It sounds like a perfect meal to me, though, the company is always more important to me than the location. I did see that Boulder was voted #1 "foodie town" by Bon Appetit, after making it as a runner up last year.

Elery would have loved the huevos rancheros, I'm sure, although I can't even imagine anything with chilies in it for breakfast!

Karen has the pictures, but I'm sure she's still too busy to post them. It was a marvelous morning finally getting to meet Karen and Charles. And yes, football did come up a time or two. I just wish we could have had more time to spend together.... we were having so much fun. It has been way too long since I spent time with Lee and Max, so I'm glad I got to see them too.

I loved the burrito that I ordered. It was huge and I was only able to eat about half of it. Karen has pictures of it, so you'll be able to see it. The restaurant was really lovely, and in a great part of town. But, I have to agree with Lee --- Boulder has great restaurants, so maybe next time we can go there.

I've had a bit of a chance to look through my new cookbook and can't wait to try some new things in it. I spend lots of time sitting in the car waiting on my kids at lessons, so I'm going to bring it with me in the next few weeks and start bookmarking the stuff I'd like to try. I was planning to try Lee's Wild Porcini Sauce for dinner tomorrow, but I seem to be catching a cold today. If I am, I'll wait until my taste buds are fully functional before I try it.... I'd hate to waste it on a day when I can't taste things.

Hopefully, Karen will be back to visit her daughter more often so we can see more of her. She says she doesn't want to come in the winter, but maybe we can convince her that our weather isn't that bad. I'd hate to have to wait until next summer to see her again.

Oh what a whirlwind trip! So much to do and not enough time to do it!

Dylynn, you are a wonderful new friend! After we left, from breakfast, I told Charles how much we had in common...busy women that we are! Thank you for coming all the way down to meet with us. I now have 4 Colorado friends that will probably get tired of me calling them and telling ya'll that I'm coming in to Colorado for a visit! LOL! Sooo much fun!

Lee and Max, I want to thank you for setting the perfect scene to enjoy each other. You my friends are excellent host and I'm so proud to call you my friends.

We had such a short time together but I felt like I've known Dona for a long time. Max is so charming and it was good to see Lee again. BTW, Lee looks great! She has had some health issues but seems to be in top notch health!

Karen, don't confuse me with those food pictures! I saw "Breakfast Burrito" underneath the picture of Charles and Max's breakfast and I thought that was a picture of what I had ordered. I kept staring at it thinking "I don't remember it looking like that.... Maybe I should have worn my glasses while I ate!" Then I realized that it wasn't a picture of my plate, so I wasn't as crazy (or blind) as I thought.

Jessy, I was finally got home and checked all of my messages :) Check your email.

"I just love these people!" And we love all of you. As soon as we got in the car to head back to Boulder, Max started talking about how nice you all are. Of course he's met Dlynn before and this breakfast just reinforced his opinion from the first time he met her.

Sharon, we want to be on your list, we really do. I felt so bad when we missed you by days last year in New Mexico.

Cathy, I had hoped we'd see you this year in CO, but next year would be fine too. And we can add your Raymond to the list of great guys. I've been lucky enough to meet other really nice CF guys too, but then you just expect that from friends on the forum.

Annie, thanks, I'm so much better, but after my time at sea level and then coming back to the smoke, I can tell you I'm really huffing and puffing back at cardiac rehab - went once last week, and will go twice this week and then three and four times the following weeks. It's slow to gain and so quick to lose if you don't keep up.

Karen and Charles, thanks for making time to see us. Come back soon please. And thanks for posting the pictures.
