I need a blender...

Looking for suggestions for a basic, but decent blender. I have a stick blender which I love, but need a jar type too.

I had an adequate Cusinart blender from about 5 years ago which worked fine that I think I paid around $60 at BB&B. When my MIL became ill and needed pureed foods, I lent it to the caregiver. It didn't return in good working order and I'd let it slide until this week when I attempted to make gazpacho for DH. I used the food processor, but it leaked and made a terrible mess.

Last night I looked at Costco and saw they had a blender-small food processor combo for $69. Not bad, but the blender jar looked small too and I don't need a so-so food processor. However prices on Cuisinart & KA blenders are running $99 + , and I don't use it enough to justify that price.

Does anyone have a suggestion or a link to a better price or a model that is more midprice range and works well?

Thanks in advance!
