Dirty Finger Nails

DFN finished her 1st cycle of chemo. Side effects were quite mild and she handled it well. 5 more 3 daay cycles to go. She's feeling much better these days and continues to improve.

I love to get my bare hands in the dirt but my skin does not. I hated all gardening gloves until I tried Atlas Nitrile Touch gloves: http://www.lfsinc.com/atlasgloves/garden.htm and what I do is keep about a dozen pairs near me when I'm gardening so that I can quickly put on a clean pair if the one I'm wearing gets too wet. Later, I throw all the dirty ones in the laundry. In three years I have not worn out a single pair!

No, Tinmantu, you are not wierd. You are very much like my brother. He is very polite and respectful to all people and he opens doors for everyone. I do the same thing. When I first started dating Robby, many moons ago, we were going into a restaurant. He was in front of me and opened the door to the restaurant. I heard a noise and looked back, but I kept walking and ran right into the CLOSED door! He didn't keep it open for me! He died laughing from the other side of the door, with greasy nose print on the glass. LOL I think it's just thoughtful and respectful to open doors for each other--a simple act of common courtesy. And it takes very little effort. Tardiness is a bad sign too. I'm always punctual and I hate having a date or meeting with someone and they're late. I have a friend who is constantly late for our lunch dates, so I rarely go to lunch with her anymore. I arrive on time and she's 30 minutes late. Did I mention phones? Mobile phones are good--for emergencies. But I hate to be out with someone and they're talking on the phone instead of being with me. It's just annoying. When I was growing up, if we had company and the phone rang, Mom would answer the phone. But she'd tell the other party, "I have company right now. Let me call you back later." Then she'd visit with her company and return the call when company had left. Tinmantu, and you other guys out there, what are turn offs for you when dating? Clue us gals in on some do's and don'ts. Keeping her in my thoughts and prayers too!! My Dad just finished 5 weeks of radiation treatment for CNS Lymphoma in his brain. His treatments were quick too! Does she have to hang on to a donut while she's being treated? My Dad really liked that he said it made him feel safe and secure! If you have any questions for someone who's going through the same thing, please email if you want.Sometimes talking to the doctors isnt enough. Good thoughts are coming your way!!

Great news! Praying that the other sessions will be tolerated as well! woo hoo!

As she progresses with the treatments, the side effects will possibly get a little tougher each time. Make sure you have the anti nausea pills on hand and anything else thta may help her. It doesn't always happen, and I don't know what "cocktail" she is taking, but just wanted you to be aware... I'm sure the Doc went over all of that with you anyway...
