Wow, a person can "waste" no SPEND a lot of time looking at blogs!! Kudos to you who have them, with spectacular photography and time-consuming instructions step-by-step photos!!

One thing that concern me, is I came across a blog recently....it's actually one of the first ones that pop up when I was looking for banana muffins. She posts "her" banana muffin recipe when it's word for word and obviously one from a very well-known Canadian and local muffin cookbook. All the raves and compliments she got on "her" recipe just rubs me the wrong way.....big time!

What stops bloggers from plagiarizing other people's recipes and ideas?

Nothing....but their consence and people like you who blow the whistle on them.
I had someone who was selling hostas post a picture of my hosta like that with my hand in the picture! I knew it was my hand because I recognized my ring!

I remember that happening to AnnT a while back. I don't think it was a blog, but a person posting either a photo or a recipe of Ann's and claiming it was her's (the poster's). I think it was the photo that was Ann's. Anyway, I remember it because the photo didn't even depict what the recipe was.

I think it was Wordpress that I used when I blogged about my surgery. It was simple, straightforward, as TM said. I used to use PB, but their new format has me flummoxed, to say the least!! Below is a link to an interesting blog, that one of our former contributors does - it is quite nice, I think! Wow--it'd take some nerve to post AnnT's picture and claim it. She has a distinct style and I can ususally tell her photos on Foodgawker. She takes better food pictures than any I've ever seen!

Ann, you should write a cookbook AND do the photography.

Thanks patti. I've had my photos used often on other sites without permission. I really don't mind my photos being used, and appreciate it when most borrowers give credit. But many don't.

Hi! I introduced myself on here ages ago (used to frequent the kitchens board back when we did our remodel). Anyway, it really irks me when people use other people's work without giving credit. I share recipes quite a bit on my blog, but I always link to the original source (at least where I found it -- I guess even that might not be the original). Recipes aren't protected under copyright laws, so unfortunately there's not really much people can do when others take credit. But photos? You definitely have every right to demand removal when someone steals your photography.

That said, I just checked out Ann_T's blog, and WOW! That chicken in mushroom sauce is going on the menu this week -- thanks!!
