Another request for special thoughts please!

Your special thoughts for Jason's hernia surgery were so great and successful (he's actually back at work today though I think he's a dork!) that I would like to beg for some more...

We are moving back to Saskatchewan as soon as our house sells. It's been for sale since the end of October...and wouldn't you know it, NOW the market is slow. (it's been crazy here until now, when we moved here everything we wanted to look at sold before we even got here to look) Jason's new job started Dec. 3, so the girls and I have been here during the week while Jason drives 3 and a half hours to SK on Sundays and then 3 and a half hours back on Friday evenings. It absolutely STINKS to have to take care of three small girls by myself during the week and I am so tired. Plus we miss Jason horribly during the week and it's crummy because I feel like our lives are on hold until we can move there to be with him. He's staying with some friends of ours there for now. I never thought that it would be this long that we'd be waiting but... *sigh*

I'm really tired of doing this so if you have any extra special thoughts please spread them this way. At this rate we'll never get through Season One of "Rome" let alone Season Two, LOL. :D

Sending those thoughs and you will survive. Beside, Sask is closer to me than Alberta!! Almost neighbors. We are just 25 miles from the border and lots of those great people do come to Minot to shop!!
You will sell when you least suspect it.

Are you serious, Marie?! We'll have to visit sometime! I've never been to North Dakota. I had no idea you were so close! Of course I'll have to get five passports first. *shiver*

Thanks for the thoughts...I know that this is just a character builder..or at least I tell myself that to feel better. LOL

Thanks for not thinking I'm too emotional about all of you, and putting up with me wanting to 'hang on to you'. LOL. Seems the older I get, the more important FAMILY becomes, and you certainly are like family in my corner of the world. Yep, we do have a few holidays to decorate for. Little ones but worth some table settings, or tiny table scapes. Father's Day, Mother's Day, Cinco de Mayo, Memorial Day, and Everyday's a Dish Day. LOL. Plus I'm sure OA can come up with all kinds of holidays for us to celebrate too. You Yard-Salers and Treasure Shoppers HAVE to share your goodies with us of course. Pretty flowers are something to celebrate, so you gardeners will have things to share. And MO...yep, we need a big ol' promise you will keep us updated on baby progress. Since our Forum doesn't have a Conversation side, like Garden Junk does, for Off Topic chat...we are VERY lucky the powers-that-be let us have such latitude here to have the fun we do. As well as the serious sharing and caring. They allow us to be the really great Forum we are in my opinion! And we do try to make EVERY day a holiday. LOL. hugs, Karen

Good news! Rick is going home from the hospital today. I got to speak with him last night, and he sounded great. He said he feels better than he has in a long time, his pain is greatly diminished, and he rarely has to take pain meds. He's been in pain for a while, but the doctor (not the one that discovered the tumor) said it was arthritis and put him on high dose Ibuprophen. He doesn't have to take that now. Yeah! Sally

I will keep Shelly in my thoughts and prayers. Miracles can happen. My MIL had pancreatic cancer, and although she passed away, she lived much longer then expected. We think 2 things made a difference, a positive attitude and taking care of herself, especially nutritionally. While she is able, Shelly should do things she enjoys. My MIL found joy in the littlest things, a beautiful day, snow on the trees, etc. Getting enough calories, adding the right enzymes (a compromised pancreas makes it harder to digest food), etc. is REALLY important. Getting hospice involved now - they are much better at pain management and making what time is left as positive and pain free as possible. If Johns Hopkins can help Shelly - its still ok, your can "graduate" from hospice care. Hospice workers also provide a caring, yet not emotionally involved, group of people for Shelly and her family to talk to. Another friend with PC has been part of a clinical trial in Denver. They have been delivering the chemo directly to his tumor thru a scope. His tumor growth has been stable for a year. Join PanCan and CaringBridge. You are a good friend and I wish you all the best.

glenda, when that happen i just said ok, i'm not waititng and shaved the rest off...it was scarey and sure made my heart sad, but i felt i was taking charge... head over to wal mart..in the same section as purses, ect, they have a selection of bandanas...i had one for summer, and one for halloween..they were my "statement"....i was lucky as breast c drugs wern't as harsh as some? she's got to be reminded that she is still your friend, a mom, and everything she was before, aside from some very nasty cells that have invaded... and be as incouraging to the family as possible...they have to keep that positive outlook as well...prayers are continuing!

Oh Danielle-I know it seems like forever when my DH travels-and his is usually just a week at a time, and I only have 1 DD! You have my sympathies!! Is there anyone that could help you even for an hour or so?

I'm sure your house will sell now that the holidays are over! That's a hard time to sell.

Also, HGTV has a bunch of shows on how to get your house sold quicker? Maybe one would have a good hint for you?

Thanks everyone. It's not the house itself that is causing a lack of sales. It's neat as a pin when we have showings even though it almost kills me to do it. We've only ever had two showings in all this time. It's been slow for everyone. *sigh*

I have no one to help me except for two good friends who will drive Annie to the bus stop if it's -20 (her bus stop is .08 km away, nice eh?) and also take her to Brownies. There is no one to help me out with the kids as our extended families live an hour away and work during the week. It sure is lonely. And scary as I'm somewhat getting used to it.

Thanks again for the good wishes. I'm hopeful we'll hear something soon. Well, hopeful is stretching it. :D

I was at Univ. 50 years ago and Seminary in Saskatoon and brother's a retired farmer near Lumsden.

Hi Danielle!

I'm saying prayers right NOW! LOL... I know how it is with DH's traveling since mine is gone often. This year is changing for him though and he won't be gone but once a month! YAY! I know you had a hard time leaving SK, are you happy to be going back? If so, I'm thrilled for you all! :) BTW, your littlest is precious- well, they ALL are! But I didn't get a chance to say so on your picture thread the other day. :) Sell, house, SELL!
