How do we get ahold of our Moderator?

I recieved an email from Kathleen....

She can't get in and got a message that she doesn't have a membership here.

She thinks maybe she has been banned but doesn't know why...

She wants me to email them for her but I can't remember where to find their email.

I see a contact up above but I think it is for tech problems with the forum.

Patti, all the way at the bottom of the page, there is a link that says Technical Problems. Click that and it takes you to where you can send them a message.

If you are within 15-20 miles of me I would be happy to come over and take a look. Only payment necessary would be a cold bottle of beer. :) You have aroused my curiosity. Check out if there are any garden clubs or master gardeners in your area and get hold of them. Or check with your local mom & pop garden nursery - maybe the owner would be willing to stop by in return for reimbursement for fuel and time. You would be helping to support a local small business owner, which is always a good thing. If you post your whereabouts here, just post some nearest towns or something, do not get specific. I think you'll be fine getting rid of the fireplace. If you had a house with a distinct style, say a craftsman, spanish or victorian, then I would say keep the fireplace

Thanks Josephine. Maybe somebody here in this city needs to start a hosta business. But I don't have the money or the space for that. And being in Saskatchewan a short growing season, it wouldn't profit much for me......BUT wait...I like your idea of splitting mine and making a few dollars, but again these are hostas!!!! I can't even give them away to my sisters!! LOL. I was actually thinking of doing this with the daylilies to tell you the truth, or try too, but I've got so much work to do around here I never get to that part. I was going to advertise daylilies on texting to everybody I know and then on facebook......who knows

I had lunch over the weekend with friends, and we discussed this topic. One is a nurse at a local hospital and is increasingly frustrated with the model of care for the elderly. She made a great statement: "Doctors don't treat death." Our healthcare system is based on keeping people alive as long as possible and profiting from that. But to go along with this, the system sure is failing at the assisted living and nursing home options, IMO. I was fortunate in that my father could afford any facility, but even the "good ones" were dismal at best. My sister and I did unannounced walk-thru's of about 6 or 8, and I left each one with a heavy heart. They were depressing places... of course, I was emotional to begin with, but I couldn't believe this is all we can offer our elderly. The primary hands-on care of elderly residents in many of these places falls on CNAs and LPNs, who I believe are grossly underpaid. But that's another issue. Patriceny, your dad's place sounds ideal to me. I'm also hearing more about alternatives where people pool their money to stay in a converted home of sorts, hire help, and rely on one another for their day-to-day needs. I love this idea... I hope it spreads. A lot of logistics would need to be covered in terms of contractual agreements and levels of care needed. But I can't imagine paying long-term care insurance for years and ending up in one of the facilities I toured for my dad. I know many of our parents who claim they "don't want to be a burden" are, in fact, great burdens. I hope each of you who are there for them are rewarded when your time comes with better options. We desperately need better options.

Mickey that is the tech problems one...I want our Moderators...I think her name is Tammi or something like that...I'm so horrible with name...Barely remember my own.

Did you send an email Patti?
Do you think several of us should report Kath's problem in case one or more won't go through?
I know it's hard to reach people through the KT email.

I've had to log in twice today so I suspect it's GardenWeb and not Kath.

What Kath could possibly say to get banned?

Lori...She doesn't have a clue...she was afraid it was about the post on the email scam...but she was just posting that to show how dumb some of those scams are. So I doubt that would be the problem.

I don't think it would hurt to email them...

I just saw her scam post and there was nothing offensive there...to me anyway.

I think if that scam posting was enough of a problem to ban her, they'd have pulled the post too. I'd say it's a technical problem.

Message for Kathsgardn ... before you get too upset, clear your cache and cookies, reboot and try to log in again. If that doesn't work, then action definitely should be taken to get you back here!

Minnie, no just that Tamara unblocked it. She just said that there was a problem earlier, didn't specify. I'm just glad to be back!
