I do mine in the microwave. I put a piece of paper towel on the bottom of a microwave dish and a piece over the top of the bacon. It depends on the power of your microwave how long to cook it. I have learned to listen to it just like you listen to popcorn cooking in the microwave. When the grease popping slows done, it is probably done, depending on how crisp you like it. With my one daughter's microwave I used to cook it about a minute per piece of bacon, but the one here is higher wattage and takes less time.

When you first start doing it this way you have to check to see if it is done and if it isn't, micro it some more. You will soon learn how long it needs in the microwave you are using.

When I bake bacon, I bake it on my broiler pan, so the grease drips thru into the pan.

I bake it on a cookie sheet and should use a broiler pan! I usually bake at 350-375 degrees...gosh now its been awhile, guessing 20 minutes give or take a few. It keeps its shape and tastes great!
I have been doing it in the microwave lately, cause with just DH and I 4-6 slices is enough. Its too easy to over do it in the microwave so I do short spurts! LOL
With the whole family together though I'd do it in the oven. That way I can do a couple pans.

Well, I used a deep lasagna pan with a cookie cooling rack in it to let the grease drop off down into the bottom. It came out good. I'm using it for some potato soup and didn't want a lot of grease in it.

I've done it both on a broiler pan and on a half-sheet pan covered with parchment.

I much prefer the half-sheet pan covered with parchment paper. The broiler pan had burned grease on both the slotted top and in the bottom pan, and had to be soaked to clean. With the sheet pan and parchment the bacon got crisper (essential to my DH), but the grease didn't burn. Yes, I had grease to pour out,(as I did with the broiler pan) but the pan could then go in the dishwasher and come clean with no scrubbing and scraping.

Bacon Crisps
****I don't do the parmesan cheese
1/2 cup freshly grated Parmesan

1 sleeve buttery rectangular crackers (recommended: Waverly Wafers)

1 pound sliced bacon cut in 1/2

Preheat the oven to 250 degrees F.

Place 1 teaspoon of the cheese on each cracker and wrap tightly with a strip of bacon. Place the wrapped crackers on a broiler rack on a baking sheet and put the baking sheets on the oven rack. Bake for 2 hours, or until the bacon is done. Do not turn.**I do turn Drain on paper towels. Serve hot or at room temperature

Cook's note: You can also bake at 350 degrees F for 40 minutes if you're in a hurry!

Never had a problem with burned grease, but I lightly spray the broiler top with Pam.
