Dirty Finger Nails

DFN continues to do pretty well and she is showing signs of improvemnet. She has her 2nd 3 day chemo cycle next week...that will leave 4 more to go. Saw her Oncologist last week. He had her do some nausea iv medication along with steroids...(she might be able to out hit Barry Bonds!).

Appettite getting better. She works 3-4 days a week for half days. Still gets tired out easily but overall feeling better.

She's been through such an ordeal. I'm glad she's feeling better and I'm hoping for a speedy, full recovery.

We hope that she isn't worn down too much by the chemo.

I love to get my bare hands in the dirt but my skin does not. I hated all gardening gloves until I tried Atlas Nitrile Touch gloves: http://www.lfsinc.com/atlasgloves/garden.htm and what I do is keep about a dozen pairs near me when I'm gardening so that I can quickly put on a clean pair if the one I'm wearing gets too wet. Later, I throw all the dirty ones in the laundry. In three years I have not worn out a single pair!

Great news! Praying that the other sessions will be tolerated as well! woo hoo! As she progresses with the treatments, the side effects will possibly get a little tougher each time. Make sure you have the anti nausea pills on hand and anything else thta may help her. It doesn't always happen, and I don't know what "cocktail" she is taking, but just wanted you to be aware... I'm sure the Doc went over all of that with you anyway...

No, Tinmantu, you are not wierd. You are very much like my brother. He is very polite and respectful to all people and he opens doors for everyone. I do the same thing. When I first started dating Robby, many moons ago, we were going into a restaurant. He was in front of me and opened the door to the restaurant. I heard a noise and looked back, but I kept walking and ran right into the CLOSED door! He didn't keep it open for me! He died laughing from the other side of the door, with greasy nose print on the glass. LOL I think it's just thoughtful and respectful to open doors for each other--a simple act of common courtesy. And it takes very little effort. Tardiness is a bad sign too. I'm always punctual and I hate having a date or meeting with someone and they're late. I have a friend who is constantly late for our lunch dates, so I rarely go to lunch with her anymore. I arrive on time and she's 30 minutes late. Did I mention phones? Mobile phones are good--for emergencies. But I hate to be out with someone and they're talking on the phone instead of being with me. It's just annoying. When I was growing up, if we had company and the phone rang, Mom would answer the phone. But she'd tell the other party, "I have company right now. Let me call you back later." Then she'd visit with her company and return the call when company had left. Tinmantu, and you other guys out there, what are turn offs for you when dating? Clue us gals in on some do's and don'ts. It's good to hear that she is doing well. I can't even imagine trying to do chemo and work...Everyone's chemo is different but if she is having problems with the chemo, they should be giving her the nausea meds, and steroid with every chemo....they even do Benadryl around here along with the other two...

Tell her we are thinking of her.

Let me tell you...even without the chemo and other treatments...Just going through the hysterectomy take a long time of being tired. When I had mine I had no pain fron it whatsoever. Had it on a Tues. came home on Wed. and went to the auction on Saturday...

But everything I did...required a nap afterwards...for nearly 6 months.

The being tired is common...eventually that will go away.
One less thing to worry about.

I believe there is a bright future for her...

Thanks dok, for doing the update. Man, those steroids are the best! I've been so sick for a couple of months and it was questionable whether I'd be well enough for chemo, but now, Shazam! I can raise my head from the pillow long enough to use the bathroom, and that IS progress.

Don't tell dok, but I think I may have a crush on my oncologist for helping me feel so good! (He's not attractive in any other way!) LOL - oh, I mean the oncologist. My dok's pretty hunky!
