I just read through it all too and would be really interested in it if it wasn't $60. I have several areas around our new place where I'd like to know more about the soil conditions (esp. regarding drainage), so if it was within my "impulse-without-guilt" price range I would definitely try it. Something amusing - the line that says, "How can I end gardening by trial and error?" makes me cringe just a little... I actually LOVE the trial and error aspect of gardening. It's what helps me learn and get better results over time. That said, I can see how this could provide some valuable information. Love that it connects to the computer - I notice the photo doesn't show garden dirt all over the table next to the computer though, which is certainly what you'd have in real life if you had just pulled it out of the soil! LOL

So after incentives, the solar hot water is about $3k on the new house. Last house there was an additional utility incentive and price was less so it was about $1500. At that price, even with NG availability, payback is 5 year range. New house is all electric so payback is still less than 10 years. My payback goals are 15-20 years. Solar PV is right about there - I just don't have a great roof for it. We may get a group buy where the goal is 10 year payback and even with my east roof, it maybe worth it. ES certification with blower door test does not have a requirement for smoke test I guess. Maybe if it fails, then it does. For me - I just got the pat on the back. The only problem with that $2k incentive is proof. My current house uses less than 1/2 the energy of code houses but I bet I couldn't prove that before it was done. I will have to check into it but I'm not sure the new house could ever make the cut because of the huge east windows with minimal overhang in a cooling climate. If they don't take those things into consideration, then 50% should be possible and solar hot water would put me over that. The overhangs are limited by things outside of my control - but there are wind issues that also limit overhangs. The governing body counts the overhang as footprint and has significant restrictions. Now an awning can come later....

My husband has done some DNA testing, Autosomal, which is where you match cousins and that is probably what he is asking you to do. The other hubs did was Y testing, trying to find males with the same surname. One thing you can do to have a little more control over the results is to 1) make sure you have the kit number and that you set up the password. I had ordered kits for two people and paid for them myself. This was so I could see the results but I also included their email addresses so they would get results and match notifications as well. Once I determined if hubs was related to them (one yes, one no), then I had them change the passwords so that I can no longer get into their kit information. Our situation is a little different than yours but again in our case, like yours, these were total strangers who agreed to help us out. ] Be aware that there are sites that the DNA information can be downloaded to sites like gedcom where people that have different companies that test can compare results. This person may then have your information out there for anyone to compare your DNA to theirs. Names are not listed, just your kit number and he would probably put his email address as the contact person. There is an option of not putting email address at all but then that limits possible matches from contacting him/you. These are questions you should discuss before you do the test. Know if he is having the results sent to him only, you only, or both. If you have them sent only to you, then you can request him sending his to you and you could be the one who sees if there is a match. The person who hubs did not match still appreciated receiving the information and we still keep in touch. The one who did match has helped confirmed our lines matching back to the GGGF in the late 1700's. The autosomal testing is not as definite. We get matches all the time but the probability is small. It has helped to find some relatives that we weren't sure of. Do you know the name of the company and type of test?

Hi ladies, I'm new here and I'm glad i found this forum after searching high n low for it. I ws 41 when i got married to a guy i knew for 2 years n been TTC eversince. I'm 43 now. My story is a sad doom gloomy one.A few months after i got married, we went for a check-up in a government hospital in my country. We didn't know what those things such as FSH n other numbers mean so we asked the doctor to explain. The doctor scolded us because my FSH is very high n that whatever programme such IVF or etc she puts me on will not achieve success.We went home crying.I went to another doctor of private hospital and had my polyps removed from my uterus but he didn't touch any of my endometriosis cyst on my ovaries. And, yes he said my ovarian reserves are just too low n even the one or twoeggs I have is not good. He kept on pushing me to go for egg donation but we don't want that. No doctors want to help me. Now, I've taken more good food n nutrition, avoid preservatives n canned food n sodas, upped my vitamins, have never taken alcohol or smoked in my life.We've been praying everyday for a baby.I really don't know what else to do.My mother-in-law n brother-in-law have been pressurising my husband to divorce me because of my late age of TTC.My husband has low good sperm-count problem but his problem is not as bad as mine. According to doctors, he has only 2 years but I dont hv any chance at all to hv a baby of my own.Sometimes i wonder why i met the man of my life at this age. I had always wanted to get married at age 27 or 28 but couldnt find any.I dont tell anyone of our TTC problems because some people have negative thoughts about us such as I must hv done something so bad in my life before.I really hope my prayer is answered.Most of your stories here, ladies, provide me some relief. You dont know how sad I am that it affects my performance at work. Ktrojan, if you are still following this forum, couldyou please tell me how i can see your'natural doctor'.
