My way is a little longer than some folks, but it works for me ... If the pictures are on your computer, create a new folder on your desktop and put them all in the folder. If your computer supports writing to a CD, then insert a new CD in the drive. Open up My Computer and click on the 'drive' where the CD is. Re-size the box that opens, so it's a bit smaller, and move it around on your desktop until you can see the folder where you put the pictures. You can either drag the whole folder onto the box that shows what's stored on the CD (easiest) Or you can open the folder and drag the pictures individually to the box that shows what's stored on the CD When you're ifnished, there should be a command to 'write files to the CD' or something like that ... mine appears at the top menu under File I believe. Click on that, and the computer will finish it up. If you close all the windows, take out the CD ... then put it back in, you should be able to see the pictures you jsut stored there. That's what you can give your friend, then. And when you know she's got it and can see her pictures, you can delete the folder from your desktop and empty the recycle bin so it isn't taking up space.

Yea, sc77...I'm a brain-dead noob to boot! Full sun mostly, a bit part sun, a bit of shade. Preferably evergreen, color other than boring monotone green, something different...I saw a real sparsely branched 5'-6' specimen that was really neat looking, I was going to drive by and ask what it was, but I forgot where I saw it. (D'OH!) I was traditionally in zone 6b but they bumped us up it to 7a, due to global warming...er...change. I ain't buying the zone change shpiel, as I lost MANY perennials due to VERY long Very cold spells... but don't get me started on that..., irregardless, I do have a nice microclimate against the house that faces South. Thanks CanyonSpring, I shall see if I can track one down locally!

Zack, when you say 'compost', what kind do you mean? I have seen some that holds water like mud....The kind you make yourself or dehydrated manure which tends to stay wet a lot? Do they even sell compost that would fit the bill that I could amend both areas tomorrow? They are still both almost dormant, not leafing out yet....I'm guessing I should use peat, maybe perlite, the yard soil and compost? Funny, we don't get enough rain any more in summers, always in drought in which I have to hand water, yet it seems it still has to drain well.. As you can tell, it's my first time growing any rose since the only one I had since last year, and that one did not fare well..Thank you
