This is a two part question; Firstly, can anyone speak to the quality of this product? And how it compares to pebble sheen? (The sunstone pearl is already an upgrade and to upgrade further to pebble sheen would only cost an additional $2000 but my PB is advising me against it saying its a waste of $ and unnecessary.) And secondly, is anyone familiar with this color (blue pearl by sunstone pearl) and how it looks? Is it similar to any of the pebble sheen/tec colors? I'm clueless about all of this but see pebble sheen/tec posted everywhere and rarely, if ever, see SunStone being talked about....

I havenÂt had a chance to get online and check recent posts but do really enjoy them when I do. I havenÂt actually posted much myself, but appreciate the great advice I read from others! I presume youÂve made your choice but wanted to chime in that I donÂt think you could go wrong with using all of one of the two granites but probably wouldnÂt suggest using both in the very same room. Ironically, we just gutted our kitchen and ripped out Blue Pearl that I had (and thoroughly loved  never tired of it) for 15 years. We are putting in a whole new kitchen and going with Volga Blue this time to change it up a bit. I was steered that direction partly because we are not removing the Blue Pearl slab on our fireplace in the family room/great room right across from the kitchen. Because they will be several feet apart from each other but in eyeshot of one another, I did want something that would mesh well with the Blue Pearl. IÂll be using different granites in our two bathrooms and possibly the laundry room (if we arenÂt able to re-use a salvaged piece of our Blue Pearl). I agree that the answer could be improved lighting. For me, the gorgeous part of Volga Blue are the awesome pops of blue that are totally visible with lighting above. A few simple can lights in your vault above could be terrific. WeÂre doing that and under cabinet lighting and I made it a point to pick slabs with the most blue action I could find. Annalynn - I love tile like that ... and I think you have cherry cabinets so I'm sure the white looks beautiful. My mom is also looking for a backsplash and she likes the patterns like that if you don't mind sharing the manufacturer. She probably needs a cream color. I'm using a kitchen place that plans everything up front so the actual project is completed in 2.5-3 weeks. So, unfortunately I have to decide everything now. I've seen lots of different options online so I have an idea, but I know it all looks different in your house. I love glass so much more than ceramic (especially with the blue pearl), so I really want to go in that direction. Karen - I'll include the link with the colors again. I have samples at home of the slate gray (too dark), rain cloud (very pretty, but I think I want a little more color), soft blue (a little too pastel for me), soft gray (too close to white), and blue-gray. I really like the color of the blue-gray, but I'm worried it's a little on the dark side. I'm lucky in that my kitchen gets a ton of natural light so with the light cabinets, I feel like it's okay to go a little darker on the backsplash. My current kitchen has a drab beige backsplash and I'd prefer something a little more interesting. I'm at the point where it's the only thing hanging me up and they won't put me on the schedule until I pick something, so I guess it's decision time. Annalynn - is yours installed yet? Have you gotten a sample of the Lemurian Blue to take home and look at in your space? The reason I ask is, when I was looking for bathroom vanity counter, I found a great remnant piece that had iridescent blue flecks in it that I really loved (I don't know the specific variety, not necessarily the same as yours, just know it had the iridescent blue bits). But, when I got the sample piece home, I discovered that in my bathroom, in the indoor lighting, you couldn't see the iridescence at all. It just looked like plain dull mousy brown stone. I had to take it outside in the natural light, and hold it at an angle (just like it had been standing on its edge outside in the granite yard) to see that beautiful iridescence again. So, that's a long roundabout way of saying, don't fall in love and plan a whole look around something that might not be what you imagine. Definitely get a sample and see what it looks like in your space, with typical daytime and evening lighting.
