I enjoyed all three but the 2nd was my favorite.
The first was confusing in some parts and the third had so many characters.

Kacee, I'm glad to hear you think the 3rd had too many characters--I had trouble keeping up w/ them, too. It's a shame the author died and there won't be any more! Thanks for your opinion. It's always nice to know somebody agrees w/ you!

Same here.....I liked all of them, but the third was a bit over the top, and I found it confusing to tell who the bad guys were sometimes!

I have all three on my Kindle, but haven't even started reading them yet. Is it important to read them in order?

They are all on my want to read list but have not read any yet, I too would like to know if reading in order is the best way to go and if so what are the titles in the proper order?

I may go ahead and purchase them for my pandigital novel ereader.

very sad to hear the author has passed. Another great author I loved was Anne George, her Southern sisters series is wonderful, hilarious and suspenseful. I have read all of those and would love more, but not possible now.

I'm about half way through the second one. I would recommend reading them in order. There are references to occurances in the second book..(so far), that were in the first book. I just think it may be easier to read in order.
If the last one is confusing, then, I would definately read the first one....first.

I'm just finishing Dragon Tatoo. Egads, the third one has a lot of characters!??? I had enough trouble keeping everyone straight in the first one. Luckily there is a family tree in the front. I'll have to make notes by the time I get to the Hornet's Nest.

I have not yet read the books although I plan to. I did see the movie, The Girl with the Dragon Tatoo, and it was really good. I have the other two movies on hold at the library so I will see them as soon as my name rises to the top of the list.

I had no idea what this series was about and based on the name, I was not the least bit interested. But my friends wanted to watch that movie so I did and I'm glad I did. Intriguing story with lots of good characters. After I watch all the movies, I'll read the books.

Frankly, the name doesn't have much to do with the first one, until midway, IMO.

I also thought the first one had way too many characters and town names. Made it hard to get into. I had to refer to that family tree more then once to keep track! And I'm set if I ever travel to Sweden! lol

The third book ties up all the loose ends and also gives you the back story of how Liesbeth Salander came to be the person she is.
I agree, you really do need to read the books in order, it's like trying to read the Lord of the Rings out of order, would make no sense at all.
