Freezing homemade spagh sauce. Need to peel tomatoes?

I got a large box of tomatoes today, and thought use them to make spaghetti sauce and freeze it. I've never done this before, so are there any issues I should be aware of about doing that?

Also, I've only used tomatoes fresh, and know that tomatoes are usually dipped in boiling water and then peeled in sauces and such, but is this necessary if they'll be pureed? Wouldn't there be some nutritional value to the skin? Or will there be a negative effect on the sauce to leave it on?
