High Arc Faucets - Finishes? Grohe Bridgeford?
Comments (4)Thanks, Dianelouise. We're just giving our kitchen a "refresh", but I can't the amount of decisions involved in an entire remodel! We were at Lowe's last night and came across the Delta Victorian. The height is right, and it has magentic docking, but the handle is separate. That would mean another hole in the granite. How many is too many? We will have the faucet, handle, water dispenser, soap dispenser, and air gap. Will that look weird? If we go with the Blanco Silgranit Diamond double bowl, there is just a slight curve at the top. Do we just line all these things up at the back like little soldiers? I did see another thread discussing this, but they didn't seem to have as many objects. I believe it was Natesgram who posted a pic, and it looks nice and streamlined. (Does anyone know what faucet that is?) My DH is leaning towards the Delta because we can get it right away from Lowe's (for $230-ish, not sure why the website says $335). I'm more interested in the Grohe, but just not sure if the brushed nickel finish will be a problem. Here is a link that might be useful: Delta Victorian...See MoreLead-free / all stainless faucets ... ?Grohe RealSteel®Â
Comments (13)Good god, people love to dump on someone and belittle their concerns, rather than contributing anything that might be useful. Read a bit about environmental toxins, and you might change your mind. Otherwise, put a sock in it. I am also concerned with reducing my exposure to environmental toxins. People live longer, yes, but they also are getting diseases linked to chemical exposure with more frequency as well. Also, there is NO SAFE LEVEL of lead, period. Lead is a neurotoxin, and particularly for people with growing brains (eg. children) this is an extremely valid and serious concern. Why do you think the government keeps lowering the allowable amount of lead? Have you read anything about the link between lead and lowered cognitive ability, or aggressive and antisocial behavior? You can keep burying your head in the sand, but those of us who care will not. And your patronizing condescension won't make an iota of difference. You can thank us later when you've been drinking from your faucets that have vastly less lead than they used to have (though I'm going for faucets that are 100% lead free)....See MoreAnyone have Grohe 'SuperSteel' finish, and can describe it?
Comments (3)Hi readyalready! Thanks for mentioning the Allegro E! I saw the Hansgrohe brand mentioned in one of the threads I posted and just went to their web site and saw the Allegro E model photo, which looks very similar to the Grohe Ladylux that I am considering. Do you have the Allegro E? If so, what do you think of how the sprayer works?...See MoreGrohe Ladylux3 Café Pull Down Kitchen Faucet - Pricey!
Comments (4)I do have the new model and have the chrome finish due to 1) cheaper price tag and 2) my sink is right in front of a garden window and I like the look of the shiny facet in front of the window (I would prefer polished nickel to match with my other finish in the kitchen but they don't have that) I have polished nickel pendant lights and knobs/pulls. The shiny chrome fits well and the difference between the color tone is not pronounce as they are in different elevation and at a distance. I wipe down the faucet whenever I am done with the sink and I have no issue with water mark (although my kitchen is still new but I have had Grohe chrome faucet in my previous house bathroom for years and that was like new when I moved out) The model I have can lock the spray....See Morepiaa
