Thanks everyone! I'm just getting in... We didn't do the massage thing or end up at a club.... we met friends at Chili's (because they have happy hour all day every day) and after 6 long island iced teas, I didn't feel like doing a whole lot except giggling and being silly! Our server looked just like Jessica from True Blood.... I mentioned this to her after about the 4th Long Island and she said she was told that all the time and that she loves the show and that she now recognizes that she does look like that character/actress after her customers pointed it out to her. When she found out it was my birthday, she told me that just had a birthday 2 days ago and she was even born the same year I was.... that was funny! As is common with many of the restaurants in Orlando, there was a "balloon lady", and while I wasn't looking, Larry asked her if she could make a vacuum cleaner out of a balloon. She said she'd never done it before, but she really did a good job.... Here's a picture of me with my "new vacuum".... excuse the goofy grin.... I was "very happy" there after all those drinks.... After we had drinks at Chili's, Larry was hungry so we went to a vegetarian restaurant and I got some fake beef and some fake shrimp wraps with peanut sauce.... very good! Larry got sushi and fake steak. Yes, Jasper knows that he is loved and in complete control... the arrogant little thing is demanding my attention right now. Pat, that would be great. I've met a few CF members before (Cathy, Shaun, a few others) and it was a total blast. Just let me know... if I don't see it on the forum, e-mail me privately when you think you might be coming up! Annie, a camouflage cake does sound pretty redneck.... but I don't know if either of us can truly claim the title until we've been commissioned to make a cake like this :o) I didn't make this, just found it online, but I have some family members that would love it! I guess I should try to chime in more often :o) Thanks again guys

Thanks for all the lovely birthday wishes! I'm having a great day today! Woke up to a laugh-out-loud e-card from San and the day just got better and better from there. You should see my office! Black decorations hanging from the ceiling, dead flowers in a vase, and little gifts every hour on the hour from two of my friends here. Just got back from a delicious lunch out - Italian! Still have banana pudding from this morning's treat - and they keep reminding me that the day is not over yet. My mom called this morning and sang happy birthday to me. Last night I had dinner for my parents and my two sons. My boys take me out very often so I was happy to cook for them. Me....? I'm just happy to be here and to have lived this long. Thanks again guys... I took the Bernina in and they made and adjustment right on the spot and even gave me a free pack of needles and it worked fine there... of course the minute I try to use it at home, well... we'll see what happens. The lady told me not to threaten it or use bad words because the machine will misbehave even worse! I'll try to be good... I ended up not having to work the second job last night... another guy showed up because he misread the schedule and since he doesn't have a car and I do and only live 15 minutes away, I let him stay and I traded days with him :o) Lars, I know enough to know that Mr. Foxworthy's first name is Jeff and not John :-p Nice try though.... maybe you were on coffee break when you had your redneck training session... I bet you also missed the lesson on how to spit tobacco into an empty beer can and how to keep your double wide on the ground during a hurricane as well :o) Partymusic, I'm sorry nobody has done anything for you in the last 7 years... sometimes I wish we here on the CF could start our own neighborhood or compound or something so we could all be together and enjoy and celebrate and all that happy stuff :o) Ellen, I'm going for LPN... some hospitals aren't hiring them anymore, but it's a stepping stone to get to RN. The RN classes here are hard to get into and have long waiting lists and one is more readily accepted if they are already and LPN and do a bridge program... I have to take an admission test in January and I've already purchases a huge thick study guide so I can brush up on all the stuff I forgot since high school... at least there are things called Youtube tutorials now :o)

Thanks.... man I'm getting old! I think last year the most exciting thing I did on my birthday was renew my lease. Well, I've already done that this year, and I'm not having KA stand mixer issues this year like I was last so it may be boring. I'm actually working 2:30 to 11, usually do on my birthday. I'm going to celebrate on Sunday since it's my day off.

Since I don't have a family full of people to shower myself with expensive gifts, I bought something for myself that I've really been wanting. A new electronic sewing machine. It's more money that I've ever spent on myself before for something that wasn't a need, but I TOTALLY love it! It's got an automatic thread slicer and speed control and a knee operated presser foot lifter.... it's just fabulous!

It will supplement my pretty (but not versatile) antique beautifully...

I may also look at digital cameras. I need something better than my cell phone (which I also need to get the new version of) to take food pictures with.

Bobby, Happy Birthday! I have a sewing machine (White) very similar to your old girl that I use on occasion (but only if I have to). Obviously, it's pre-WWII since it's all metal and weighs a ton. I keep it around because it's simple, goes forward and backward, which is all I need it to do. (I think there's a buttonhole attachment which I will never use.) Thanks for the grin! Enjoy your new machine and your birthday.

Oh, Bobby, a new sewing machine! How fun for you! I have THREE! And they all do certain things well. I have a very old straight stitch only machine that I use for any top stitching since it makes a really beautiful and perfect straight stitch.
