Help me find my own recipe!

Okay, leave it to me to do something like this...lol

I lost one of my favorite recipes. It's for a lemon cookie and I know I've posted it here in the past. I made it as part of a christmas cookie exchange, one of the first ones we did, maybe 4-5 years ago. I can't remember who I exchanged with when I made it. I think Annie, or maybe Alexa?

Oh boy, I'm getting old...or blinded by love ;)

Can anybody help?

Found it! LOL

Here's what I posted in 2006, if anybody else is interested. Not sure why it didn't come up in the first search

Lori's Lemon Coolers
1/2 cup powdered sugar
1/3 cup sugar
1/3 cup shortening
1 egg
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1/8 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 cups cake flour
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1 tablespoon water

1 cup powdered sugar
1/2 teaspoon unsweetened lemonade mix

Directions:

-Preheat oven to 325 degrees.
-Cream together sugars, shortening, egg, vanilla, and salt in a large bowl.
-Add the flour and baking powder. Add 1 tablespoon of water and continue mixing until dough forms a ball.
-Roll dough into 3/4-inch balls and flatten slightly onto a lightly greased cookie sheet.
-Bake for 15 to 18 minutes or until cookies are light brown.
-As cookies bake, combine 1 cup powdered sugar with the lemonade drink mix in a large plastic bag and shake thoroughly to mix.
-When the cookies are removed from the oven and while they are still hot, add four or five at a time to the bag and mix until the cookies are well coated. Repeat with the remaining cookies.
(Makes about 4 dozen cookies)

NOTES:
*This recipe doubles easily - in fact I don't ever remember NOT doubling it!

*I use Crystal Lite Lemonade Mix.

*For an even more lemony flavor, sub some or all of the tablespoon of water for lemon juice. I used water in the cookies I sent out.

There are very few things that offer an approved choice of either type of processing. Basically it's peaches and some tomato products off the top of my head. Some food products can never be BWB and many can never be or never should be PC because of the damage done to the product. That is one reason for the across the board recommendation to stick with approved recipes, to not modify recipes, and especially to not modify the form of recommended processing. So it isn't an issue or choice that comes up all that often. But the chemistry behind it is confusing at times. Often it the addition of one ingredient such as sugar or dry herbs rather than fresh or one action such as pre-cooking that makes one recipe safe while another isn't. And some times it is just a matter of taste. With the peaches they offer both options because both have been tested and because some prefer them BWB and some prefer them PC. Personally we like the PC ones. Try both and see which you prefer. But many times it is just because there has been to scientific testing done on a certain food or recipe. In those cases, all we can do is use one that is approved. When the new, revised guidelines come out later this year (hopefully) there will likely be more changes to deal with. There are other legit sources besides NCHFP - Ball Blue Book, Ball Complete Book, Ellie Topp's book, among many discussed here. But never use "old family" or make-up-as-you-go-along or one of the how to preserve food in Alaska lady sites or ones from old cook and canning books without first having them vetted by those in the know. Note that the leavening is baking soda...and as of NOW the directions in also say soda instead of powder as in the first I posted....and now I will correct it on my copy too!!! Carrot cake Julie Ts 3 eggs 3/4 cup vegetable oil 3/4 cup buttermilk 2 cups sugar 2 teaspoons vanilla 2 cups flour 2 teaspoons baking soda 3/4 teaspoon salt 2 tsps cinnamon 1 8 oz can crushed pineapple, drained 2 cups grated carrots 1/2 cup raisins chopped with 1 Tablespoon of flour Buttermilk glaze 1/2 cup sugar 1/4 tsp baking soda 1/4 cup buttermilk 1/4 cup butter 1 Tblsp light corn syrup 1 tsp vanilla Orange Cream Cheese Frosting 1/2 cup softened butter 4 oz softened cream cheese 1 tsp vanilla 3 cups powdered sugar 1 tsp orange juice 1 tsp grated orange rind Preheat oven to 350 With a mixer Beat eggs, add oil and buttermilk, sugar and vanilla. beat to combine. Stir together flour, salt, cinnamon and baking soda and stir into batter. stir in pineapple, carrots and raisins. Pour into a greased 8 by 13 pan or 2 greased round 9 inch cake pans. Bake 35 to 45 minutes until set in the middle. Remove from the oven and immediatly spread with the buttermilk glaze. Cool completely and frost with the cream cheese frosting. Buttermilk glaze: In a medium sauce pan ( don't use a small pan) combine all ingredients but vanilla. Bring to a boil and cook 3 minutes stirring often...it will bubble a lot. It should be a light caramel color, stir in vanilla and pour over the cake Cream cheese frosting: Beat cream cheese and butter until light add vanilla powd. sugar and juice and rind...beat until smooth and frost the cooled cake.

This is how I make mine,except for the pimientos and I don't always add peas.This is from the Campbells Soup site. Tuna Noodle Casserole 1 can (10 3/4 ounces) Campbell'sÂ® Condensed Cream of Mushroom Soup (Regular or 98% Fat Free) 1/2 cup milk 2 tablespoons chopped pimientos (optional) 1 cup frozen peas 2 cans (about 6 ounces each) tuna, drained 2 cups medium egg noodles, cooked and drained 2 tablespoons dry bread crumbs 1 tablespoon butter, melted Stir the soup, milk, pimientos, peas, tuna and noodles in a 1 1/2-quart casserole. Stir the bread crumbs and butter in a small bowl. Bake the tuna mixture at 400Â°F. for 20 minutes or until hot and bubbling. Stir the tuna mixture. Sprinkle with the bread crumb mixture. How about something like this? No egg whites, so it seems to have more of a "custardy" texture, and you can replace some or all of the white sugar with your Turbinado sugar and add the PP Spice to taste. 3 cups whole milk 1/3 cup small-pearl tapioca (not instant) 1/2 cup granulated sugar 2 large egg yolks, lightly beaten 1 vanilla bean, split lengthwise, seeds scraped and reserved 1/8 teaspoon fine salt INSTRUCTIONS Place 1 cup of the milk and the tapioca pearls in a medium saucepan and stir to combine. Let the pearls soak uncovered at room temperature for 1 hour. Add the remaining 2 cups of milk, sugar, egg yolks, vanilla seeds, and salt and stir to combine. Place the pan over medium heat and cook, whisking frequently, until the mixture just comes to a simmer, about 10 minutes (do not let the mixture boil). Reduce the heat to low and cook, whisking frequently, until the mixture thickens and the tapioca pearls are softened and translucent, about 15 minutes. Serve warm (the pudding will thicken as it cools). Place any leftovers in a bowl, press a sheet of plastic wrap directly onto the surface of the pudding to keep a skin from forming, and refrigerate for up to 2 days.

Whoa-- sorry I was so lame! I confused her with Lorijean. Of course I did read the update and I think I even added my hearty congratulations too. Definitely an estrogen moment!

You guys are too funny!

So, yes, I'm getting married. September 4! We just decided that today. We're doing a small ceremony, just us and the kids, plus a few others, about 30 people total. Dinner after. Maybe a couple of days on Nantucket. We'll have a real honeymoon in the spring.

Then when the house is ready to move in, we'll have a big bash! Probably October 23. :)
