My wife thinks everything I cook is delicious. Do you think she is taking advantage of me? I am not that good at cooking but I try!

It's probably two things - 1) you probably are a better cook than you give yourself credit for and 2) she knows a good thing when she sees it! even if your food is mediocre one day, she knows if she praises your efforts, you're more likely to keep cooking!

That will really drive the bermuda crazy but the grass will use much less water when it is 9 inches long and flowing in the breeze. You know, I like having fescue and bluegrass that is tall, like the 9-plus inches you suggested above to Mirz2000. Most of my lawn is zoysia but I also keep an area devoted to fescue and bluegrass. I recall in a different, older thread you mentioned you are growing some of your grass at your new home extra super tall. Once a cool season grass reaches 9 inches and taller, though, how do you cut it with a mower without cutting into the stems? The stems grow higher as the blades also grow higher, so you won't just be cutting blade, but also stem. At least that's what I found when I allowed my fescue and Kentucky bluegrass to grow extra tall. Even on the walk-behind mower's highest wheel setting, I was cutting into the stems. Of course, the books recommend cutting fescue and bluegrass to a height of 3 to 4 inches, and not removing more than a third at a time.

Utilizing two doorbell chimes that require diodes with 1 button

So long as the supply transformer has sufficient amperage and the wiring of the chime setup is adequate to minimize voltage drop, adding other units in parallel works well. I have not had an installation using a diode field-installed at the door button. For terminology, using the terms "bell" and "chime" interchangeably tends toward confusion.

Painting interior of house

Well, when you are a painter you will find that some of the customers just don't like sheen. The shinier paints bring out the flaws in the wall surfaces, but some of them just don't like shiny walls regardless of the condition of the walls. Manufacturers these days are pushing the durability of the matte finishes as if they are as durable as the eggshells. Sherwin Williams does not do this as much as Benjamin Moore though...you can see right on their website that they claim the eggshell is more durable and the shinier the paint, the more durable it is. But, when you are getting ready to paint your whole house, you need to consider what you want from your paint before you get going. Are you actually going to be washing your walls? Is durability really that important? How many kids and giant dogs do you have? Are you the kind that washes walls or would you rather just repaint every few years? I find that a lot of people think they want washability, but then they call me and ask for some touching up and I ask them if they ever tried washing instead of touching up and they always seem to answer 'no'. Another thing to consider is how do you feel about shine? Do you like a flat or like a little bit of sheen? Some people consider non-shiny paints to not look professional or like apartment paint. I will say though, that about 70 percent of the jobs I do for people is eggshell, 25 percent matte and the last 5 percent is dead flat.

I like the shelf idea and taking 10 to 12 inches from the closet for the shelves. You could do shelves on top and storage below (handy for shampoo, toilet paper and misc. Display your shells above. Keep the 5 foot vanity. I love countertop space. Move the shelf down to the middle of the wall. Room on one side for bath towels and room for entry door on the other side. (I love pocket doors, but would rather do a standard door on your bathroom.) This helps expand the space in your closet which would be better at 7 feet wide than 6. I had a somewhat narrow closet once that was more open in one area and that made a big difference when dressing in the closet or looking at the clothes. I noticed earlier that you said the shower can't be made wider because the shower floor is below the bathroom floor. Can't the floor be raised so that the shower enclosure could be made about 4 inches wider? If you do a shelf, put one of the smaller led lights centered in front of the shelves.

Things always taste better to me when someone else makes it and- I am more critical of my own cooking. Keep up the good work! It is fun to do things others appreciate.

My husband is and excellent cook even though he doesnt think he is as good as I do and it is a little better when you dont do it yourself. Heck since my grandfather retired he cooks almost every night and he never did when he worked. Good thing he loves it my grandmother is a good cook and did it for all those years but she always hated cooking.

Over appreciated? Who knows? My husband can do limited cooking and does make meals for us occassionally, when I just don't feel up to the task. But he also has one of those recessive sex linked characteristics where he fails to realize he makes a mess and thus creates more work for me in the clean up than cooking the meal would have been in the long run. That's not to say that he doesn't try his best. If you happen to have the dominant gene for the trait and also clean up your mess after cooking, then your wife probably over appreciates you. It you have that recessive gene trait and leave a mess trail behind you for her to clean, then she just probably enjoys your cooking style.
By the way, cooking should be a shared task. It makes the person who does the least amount of cooking in the household more appreciative of sitting down to a prepared meal that they didn't have to cook. My husband was taught by his father that NO ONE was served or to begin to eat before the person who prepared the meal was seated, served and began to eat.

I always appreciate if someone else will cook and give me a night of, or two, or three....
You don't mention her cooking, or if she enjoys it, etc. Melissa mentioned it should be a shared task and I agree. I hope you mean you have fun trying and you enjoy it which you didn't mention either.
