Spaghetti Pie

Hi;

I, too, am a newbie here. I see that this list does not move very fast. I have just started the once a week cooking, taking small steps at a time. Mostly double/triple batch cooking.

Could somebody please post a receipe for "spaghetti pie'

It sounded good.

Spaghetti Pie

6 oz Spaghetti
2 tb Butter or margarine
2 Eggs, beaten
1/3 c Grated Parmesan cheese
1 c Cream-style cottage cheese
1 lb Ground beef
1/2 c Chopped onion
1/4 c Chopped green pepper
7 1/2 oz Tomatoes, cut up
6 oz Tomato paste
1 t Sugar
1 t Dried oregano
1/2 ts Garlic salt
1/2 c Shredded mozzarella cheese

In saucepan cook spaghetti in a large amount of boiling salted water for 10 to 12 minutes or just till tender; drain (should have about 3 cups).

Stir butter or margarine into hot spaghetti; stir in beaten eggs and Parmesan cheese.

Form spaghetti mixture into a "crust" in a greased 10-inch pie plate. Spread with cottage cheese.

In skillet cook ground beef, onion, and green pepper till meat is browned and vegetables are tender. Drain off fat. Stir in undrained tomatoes, tomato paste, sugar, oregano, and garlic salt; heat through. Turn mixture into spaghetti crust. Cover edges with foil.

Bake in 350' oven for 20 minutes. Sprinkle with mozzarella cheese; bake about 5 minutes more or till cheese is melted.

Spaghetti Broccoli Spaghetti Pie

Chicken Broccoli Spaghetti Pie

8 oz. spaghetti
2 tbl. margarine
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
2 eggs, beaten
3 cups frozen cuts
2 tbl. flour
2 cups cooked chicken
1 jar Alfredo sauce
1/4 cup Italian flavored breadcrumbs
1 tsp. butter, melted

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Cook spaghetti; drain. Add 2 margarine, Parmesan and eggs. Mix well and spread in a greased 9 or 10 inch pie pan.

Combine frozen broccoli cuts, flour, 2 cups cooked chicken meat, and alfredo sauce. Pour into the crust.

Combine breadcrumbs butter, and sprinkle on top of pie. Bake for 40 minutes. You can use tuna instead of chicken

This is a really great one if you like a touch of south western flavor!
1 pkg (12oz) spaghetti
1 1/2 lbs ground beef
1 med green pepper, chopped
1 med onion, chopped
1 can (14 1/2 oz) diced tomatoes, undrained
1 can (8oz) tomato sauce
1 Tablespoon brown sugar
1 tsp salt
1 tsp chili powder
1/2 tsp pepper
1/4 tsp garlic powder
1/8 tsp cayenne pepper
1 c. shredded cheddar cheese

Cook spaghetti according to package directions. Meanwhile, in a large skillet, cook beef, green pepper and onion over medium heat until meat is no longer pink; drain. Stir in the tomatoes, tomato sauce, brown sugar, salt, chili powder, pepper, garlic powder and cayenne. Drain spaghetti; add to the beef mixture. Transfer to greased 9x13 baking dish. Cover and bake at 350 for 30 minutes. Uncover and sprinkle with cheese. Bake 5-10 minutes longer or until the cheese is melted.

As we all know, Taste is subjective. What is wonderful to you, May be dog food to me. And visa versa. That being said, I will say that there are a LOT of versions Of the King Ranch Casserole, aka King Ranch Chicken. Most I don't particulary care for, (I do not like corn tortillas in any way, shape or form) But some are really good. And while it is true that it is served In many so-called "Tea Rooms", Ranchers seldom order it. (Not many true ranchers eat in Tea Rooms) Where it got its name has always been a mystery to me. I live within walking distance of the main gate for the King Ranch. I've taken many visitors on the tour. And to my knowledge, Chickens are not something that's ever been raised there. Perhaps one of their chefs got tired of the ubiquitous beef? Anyhow, here is a casserole recipe we like, Usually a side dish, But could be an entree, I suppose. Squash Casserole (from an early 1980's Southern Living) Ingredients: 4 slices bacon 4 large yellow squash, sliced* 2 green onions, chopped 1 egg, beaten 1/2 C sour cream 1/2 C Swiss cheese, shredded 3/4 C Cheddar cheese, shredded Method: Fry bacon in a large skillet until crisp, Drain on papre towels. Crumble and set aside. Reserve drippings. Saute squash & onions in drippings 8 to 10 minutes. Combine egg & sour cream, Add to squash mixture. Stir in half the bacon. Spoon half the squash mixture into a greased 2 qt casserole. Sprinkle swiss cheese over top. Spoon remaining squash mixture over cheese. Sprinkle cheddar cheese over top, Top with remaining bacon. Bake at 350 degrees about 20 minutes (until bubbly) Yield: 6 servings * Can use zucchini, patty pan, or a mixture of summer squashes. It's all good. Rusty

It's time for cool desserts here and this one is a keeper! FROZEN STRAWBERRY-WHITE CHOCOLATE MOUSSE (Kraft) 20 OREO Chocolate Creme Cookies, finely crushed (about 1 cup) 1/4 cup (1/2 stick) butter, melted 1 pkg. (6 squares) BAKER'S White Chocolate, divided 2 tubs (8 oz. each) PHILADELPHIA Cream Cheese Spread 1 can (14 oz.) sweetened condensed milk 1 cup mashed fresh strawberries 1 cup thawed COOL WHIP Whipped Topping MIX crumbs and butter; press onto bottom of plastic wrap-lined 9-inch square pan. MICROWAVE 5 chocolate squares in microwaveable bowl on HIGH 2 min. or until melted, stirring after 1 min. Beat cream cheese spread in large bowl with mixer until creamy. Gradually beat in milk. Blend in melted chocolate and strawberries. Whisk in COOL WHIP; spoon over crust. FREEZE 6 hours or until firm. Remove from freezer 15 min. before serving. Shave remaining chocolate square into curls; place on dessert. Use plastic wrap to remove dessert from pan before cutting to serve.

Classic Crowd-Pleasing Tuna Casserole 3/4 cup green pepper, diced 3 cups celery, diced 2 onions, diced 1/4 cup butter 3 cans mushroom soup 1 1/2 cups milk 3 cups shredded cheese 24 oz. noodles 3 cans tuna (9 oz, each) 1 1/2 cups mayonnaise 3/4 cups pimiento 1 cup slivered almonds (optional) Cook green peppers, celery and onions in butter. Combine mushroom soup and milk. Add with cheese to vegetables, stir over low heat. Cook noodles, drain. Combine with tuna, mayonnaise and pimiento.. Pour sauce over. Top with almonds. If you want to freeze it, do it at this point. Bake at 425 degrees for 1/2 hour. Serves 24. I have it down to a science now, but I freeze my family sized portions in ziplock bags and just thaw and dump into a corningware dish to cook. I also freeze the occasional really large casserole dish of this (maybe half the recipe), since we rarely have big crowds at our house. Enjoy. If you don't like tuna, this can also be made with leftover chicken or turkey.

Chili-Rubbed Steak with Corn Ragout (Fine Cooking) 1 tsp. chili powder 1 tsp. ground coriander 1 tsp. kosher salt; more to taste Two 8-oz. boneless beef rib-eye steaks, or New York striploin, (about 3/4 inch thick) 2 tsp. canola or other vegetable oil 1 small poblano or other mildly hot fresh chile (Anaheim or Italian frying pepper), seeded and cut into 1/4-inch dice (about 1/2 cup) Freshly ground black pepper 1 generous cup fresh corn kernels (from 2 medium ears) 1/2 cup heavy cream 1 Tbs. minced oil-packed sun-dried tomatoes (from 2 medium tomato halves) 1 Tbs. fresh lime juice In a small bowl, mix the chili powder, coriander, and salt. Rub the mixture on the steaks. Heat the oil in a 10- to 11-inch cast-iron or other heavy skillet over high heat until very hot. Add the steaks, reduce the heat to medium high, and cook until they are well browned and done to your liking, about 3 min. per side for medium rare. Transfer to a plate and cover loosely to keep warm.
