I used one 4 1/2" pull on my larger pot drawers. I've never had an issue with it.

This is personal preference...what looks better to you...one per drawer or two per drawer?

I have one pull on drawers less than 30" wide and two pulls on drawers 30" or wider. I like the look better. My pulls are 4".

Functionally, as long as you have good drawer hardware, I don't thing it matters. I use one hand to open all my drawers most of the time and I've had no issues with drawer glides "twisting" or getting out of alignment.

If you do go with one, I think the longer pull will look better. I think the shorter pulls look "lost" on wide drawers...personal preference!

A single pull, centered, looks cleaner, plus you only need one hand to open. We have single pulls on all of our 36" drawers.

We used 1 4" pull on all our drawers and doors except the two 36" pot drawers.....on those we used a single 18" pull. Same style and material, just longer. Looks nice and works well.

You can use one hand to open even w/two pulls. I do it all the time; so that's a non-issue.

I would do exactly the same if I had it to do over...I think the look of two pulls has more of a "fine furniture" look and less of a "utilitarian" look. But, as I mentioned before, this is really each person's personal preference, there's no right or wrong.

My kitchen designer told me one because you can open it with one hand then. So that is what I did and I am glad.

I did one pull on all drawers, regardless of size, including the 36" ones. And I have 3" pulls. Works fine, and I like the look.

With today's slides, one pull works fine. Only reason to use two is if you like the look better.

You are never going to use two hands to open a drawer,so it is just a matter of your visual preference. If you get good hardware for the drawers, and they are made properly they slide open with just a finger touch. I have one large drawer that uses two smaller handles because it looked better with the bank of drawers below. The rest have one larger handle. Buy a couple of handles and hold them in place to see which you like better. I tend to think less is more to minimize clutter, but it really depends on what you choose for a handle and your personal style.

My cabinet buider wants to drill for the pulls before they deliver the cabinets. He thinks this will reduce the mess.

If you aren't sure what you want, tell him "No". It's not that much of a mess.

To be honest, if you aren't absolutely thrilled with one design or the other, I recommend you wait until the cabinets are installed and then try the different pull layouts b/f committing to one. Waiting will give you a chance to see how each way looks in your kitchen with your cabinets.

my cabinet maker told me that if I install 2 i will land up mostly using just 1 and then this might cause problems with the runners as they will lean toward the side that you pull.

Is this just sales talk I wondered, although it really does not matter that much to him.

However, I do have a dresser in my bedroom and have been paying attention to what I do to open it.

I am getting 1 pull on each drawer.

Please do not compare a bedroom dresser's hardware to kitchen cabinet hardware...there's no comparison...kitchen hardware is going to be much better. Kitchen drawers will have better quality glides, they will be more stable, they will be able to handle much more weight, etc.

I use one hand to open my kitchen drawers all the time...even the ones w/two pulls...there have been no adverse affects on the drawer hardware. I have Blumotion...a very good line of quality hardware.

The real issue is what is the quality of your drawer glides? Lower quality will most likely have problems, but high quality will not.

Muspic...ask your cabinet maker what manufacturer/brand of drawer glides s/he uses...

Is there a min length pull to use on 36" drawer? Largest my pulls come in is 6-7/8 and afraid it looks lost on slab drawer that size. If I go with two , should they be same 4-3/8" ones on cabinets and smaller drawers or the next size at 5-/12? Not sure what has best look?

I used a 7" pull on my 36" & 39" drawers. I think it looks fine. Here's a photo of my 39" drawers, on the lower left.

I have a single 128mm (5 6/7") pull on my 34" and 36" drawers and I don't think the pull looks lost at all, though I have recessed panel drawer fronts.

Thanks for photos. It looks fine so I'll go for it . Actually only my top (shallow drawer) is plain, other two do have recessed trim. I was advised its safer to use one pull since it'll be heavy with dishes or pots and less chance to throw off glee.n

The son of a close friend is a cabinet maker. He recommends a SINGLE pull on all drawers as one typically only used one pull, and being off-center, it messes up the slides.

That's pretty much what I'm hearing so thanks a lot. My concern is that the longest handle I can get to match is only 6-7/8 , wish it came in longer size so it looks more balanced.

In my opinion, I think esthetically , the drawers do look better with two handles but dont want to have problems later with glides or slides. Lol
