I wondered that, too. I thought if my biggest spaghetti pot could be filled that would be ok. And I will have a sprayer this time so rinsing the sink shouldn't be a problem. I wanted the wall mount but there just wasn't enough space.

A lot of the online pics seem to show faucest over farm sinks that don't go in very far, though I don't know why.

The only wall mounted gooseneck I could find that seems to maybe go far enough is the Kohler HiRise wall-mounted faucet. There are some more utility room looking faucets w/ straight necks (don't arch) that might go out far enough but they'd look awkward and the neck would probably get wiggly (not sure why I assume that). So I was thinking of getting the Kohler HiRise gooseneck wall faucet along with their new independent side spray which another gardenweb poster brought to my attention. The side spray would unfortunately be mounted on the counter, but it would match and has its own lever for hot and cold, and also can be left attached and angled toward the sink in which case it can fill pots or warm up defrosting meat, without you having to hold it. The only upsetting thing about the wall faucet itself is that I was really looking forward to getting one that has porcelain levers. With a marble subway tile backsplash, I worry that the faucet might look a bit too plain.

Still, I REALLY wanted a wall-mounted faucet that magically comes with a sprayer or else wall-mounted sprayer. Those require either big hoses hanging into the sink, or else the very expensive and very tall Jaclo Steam Valve Originals faucets which have the pull-off hose.

To me, the important thing is that the end of the spout is at a comfortable distance from where I'm standing. I get a sore back if I have to be stretching my (proportionately) short arms out to reach the water for long.

Of course I get splashed a lot....

You want the water stream to fall where it is comfortable to work -- not having to bend or strain to reach in to wash or rinse and you want enough room to the back to allow you to rinse larger pots, baking sheets, cutting boards and such effectively.

Theresse - Is the 8" reach on the smaller wall-mounted pull-off faucet from Jaclo (which is only 10-1/2 inches from the levers to the top of the gooseneck arch) too short?

Thank you all. Tresgirls, yes the 8" one's hose would be too short for a 30"-wide sink me thinks. Someone from the Jaclo company said he considers the 8" one to be more of a bar faucet. It's the same price as the larger one, far as I recall.

While I change my mind a LOT (in fact, I think this whole kitchen thing has made me insane), I'm presently heavily leaning toward the large Jaclo wall faucet, or at least one of their faucets (their single-hole, single-lever one is gorgeous too and while the website shows it only drawn, due to being new, the company sent me a photo of it. Their 10" wall faucet turns out to be the same reach distance as the Kohler, only it has replaceable parts and beautiful knobs/levers to choose from, unlike the less interesting Kohler. What's intriguing about the Jaclo faucet is the combination of classy/elegant and industrial, which is kind of fun.

Tresgirls, was it you who first pointed this faucet out to me? Due to the broken search function I can't figure out who that was, or even look up my old posts. If this webiste/forum was running efficiently (e.g. had "see all your posts" or "see all your threads" or "see all Theresse's posts" as most do, on their profile page), it would save people LOTS of time cause the way it is now you have to go through a zillion posts just to find a specific one hidden in a haystack!

Theresse - I don't know if I was the one who first pointed out the faucet to you. If so, I didn't do it intentionally, but I'm happy if that was the result. As far as I can tell (through the search function back when it worked), I'm the first person who has mentioned the Jaclo pull-off faucets on this forum (nixed by the only person who commented on it). We're planning on getting the 8" spout single-lever pull-off for our prep sink (I may have mistakenly posted before that we're planning on using a bridge at the prep sink) and the 8" spout bridge on the main sink in our island. I just couldn't get comfortable with how tall the 10" spout bridge faucet is (19-3/4"!), and my interior designer has assured me that the 8" reach won't look too small with the main sink. I've tried to construct a model to confirm that it will look OK, and based on the model I think -- but am not 100% sure -- that it will be fine. Just in case, though, I plan to order the 8" spout single-lever faucet for the prep sink first, then hold it up to the main sink (or a model of it) just to get a better sense that it will look OK in the bridge before ordering the one for the main sink.

The company told me the 8" is just too short for a non-bar sink but he might have meant due to the hose being so short (it's only as long as the gooseneck's length). Height-wise I agree it's not that short. I'm having a hard time w/ the height issue too but remember - worse-case scenario you could always change out the neck for one of their shorter ones, since the parts are exchangeable.
