anyone know how to make 'red lobster' biscuits?

I tried to make cheddar biscuits a few weeks ago and they turned out more like cheese it crackers! I think it was a recipe from here... took a ton of cheese. I'd like to make them taste just like the ones at Red Lobster. Very soft and tender with subtle cheese flavor, not overwhelming. Anyone have a recipe? I don't have (and can't find to purchase) a biscuit cutter, but the RL ones look like they are just made out of balls anyway. If you know their secret, please share! I've never made biscuits that weren't rocks before so I have high hopes for these.
