I had it in our last home and loved it. It's a blue/green color and a very strong granite. No problems at all.

I saw that in a model home when we were house-hunting. I fell in love with it, and wanted it for our new house. We almost went with it, but the granite place only had 1 slab of it, and it wasn't the most attractive, and I needed 2 slabs. Nearby was two new slabs of "dark peacock" that had the same background color--just no "pearls". In the end, I went with that to save time (didn't want to wait on more EP to arrive) AND money.

Emerald Pearl can be super dark almost a black green
and other times it can be a grey green with silver
flecs. This stone is a beautiful stone that is practically
bullet proof. Of course if it is sealed.

I think with white cabinets it looks more green but
again this depends on the lighting in the kitchen.

I am trying to decide on a color for my masterbath. I will have two vanities of maple wood stained auburn to match our bedroom suit. The roman tub has grey tiles around it. The floor, tub shower and toilet are white. I am trying to decide on what color granite to put on the vanities and this is a tough decision!! Anymore comments/suggestions, please join in. Thanks!!

Boxerpups!! What beautiful pics! Carrara marble was my first choice but because I have been told it scratches and stains, I have stayed away from it, but, wow I love the way it looks.
Blue is my favorite color. I had not seen the Azul Aran before. It looks beautiful, however I know when you see a slab it sometimes looks different. I don't know where to go to find this stone. It looks like something I might like. Is it alot more expensive than any of these other stones we are talking about?
Because my floor is white, does this mean I should go with a more neutral color for my vanity tops instead of a dark color? The two 60 inch vanities, one on each side of the room, are separated by a bifold closet door.
Do you know if these stones will change color over time due to sunlight? We have a skylight in addition to the picture window behind the tub. Thanks Boxerpup for your time and the great pics!

Someone told you to stay away from Marble? Shame on them!

First off Marble has been around for 1000s of years.
Octavia herself had marble surrounding her when she
put on her makeup. Some of the greatest chefs who roamed
the planet cooked on Marble. Being Italian I have to say
Marble is the way to go. And Greeks, Italinos and NYC
cooks can all agree that rolling out dough on a marble
surface is a dream.

Yes, Marble etches.
Yes, Marble can stain
and Yes Marble has a reputation for being sensitive.
But Marble is BEAUTIFUL. And Marble is not as difficult
to care for as most people believe. It can be cleaned with
Bleach.
Yes, good ole fashioned bleach. I do not mean Comet or
one of those powder bleaches. They can scratch.
Every 5-10 years have it
re-honed or treated by a stone expert. They can buff to
perfection. And of course Seal your marble every 6 months.
You would have to thie with Blue or Emerald Pearl granite.
And you really can't bleach your granite. That could
create some ugly whitish looking marks. In a bathroom
bleach is a great cleaner and even better with MARBLE.

Okay lets look at Marble for your bathroom. I really think
you need to reconsider Marble for your bathroom. Ask the
gang over in Kitchens. There are many who love their
Marble. And some of these folks use vinegar, lemon,
tomato sauce and olive oil which we all know can stain it.

Boxerpups - Our bedroom furniture is the Kincaid Laura Ashley Keswick collection. Our bedside chests have MARBLE tops!! I don't know if I can talk my husband into marble or not. I also saw on the site you referred me to, Okite quartz, someone said it closely resembled marble. Thank you again for all the photos. I still may have to find the Azul Aran also.

We have an Emerald Pearl island in our kitchen, and we are upgrading the counters to match. They will be done next week. We also picked 'Honey Tan' Slate for our backsplash, I didn't like the white contrast, and the honey tan gave us depth, but we are extremely glad we had low voltage lighting installed under our counters. I think the dark colours look rich.
