I need help from all you product search gurus

I am planning a redo of my daughter's bedroom for her 13 birthday this spring. She REALLY wants a chandelier...however her upstairs bedroom is VERY hot in our 100+ degree summers. There is just no way she can do without a ceiling fan. So...I found this light kit in the link below. However, as we are redoing all the "little girl" out of her room, pink is not in the cards. I don't mind spray painting the fixture to get what we want, but would prefer clear crystals. If it makes it easier to look, her room will be aqua (SW Seafoam Blue) with black and white. Thanks so much for any help you can offer!

On many/most/all thumb drives there is a tiny LED light, do you see it with yours? Right click Start click Open Windows Explorer In the new window look down the left side for your thumb drive, possibly showing as the F drive. When you insert the thumb drive is there an audible signal? When you remove it is there an audible signal? What happened when you visited the link Zep provided? Simply saying you tried everything is not helpful, a more detailed reply could help considerably. Chuggerguy asked if you daughter had a Mac or Linux program. Does she? Did she format the thumb drive? These are normally formatted in FAT format.

Here's something to get the ball rolling. It's similar to your "L-shaped" version but with a few changes. It provides... Plenty of prep space b/w the sink and range Plenty of landing and work space around the range A large single-level island (over 6' wide) for entertaining and cake decorating (and any other large project) A fairly well-protected Cooking Zone A refrigerator and MW that can be easily accessed by those working in the kitchen as well as a "snacker" looking for a snack or drink - without getting in each others way The MW is near both the refrigerator and a water source - most MW'd food originates from the refrigerator or freezer and most need water added to them b/f MWing The ovens are a straight shot from the range and have 27+ inches of landing space immediately adjacent to them. But, this location would require the pass-through to the LR be closed up. There's a lot of wall space lost b/c of the cold air return and the HVAC, so some compromises may be needed. This is not my only idea, but it's the one I worked up first - it's late now (2am - yikes! - time flies when I'm on the Forum or working on a kitchen layout!) so I'm off to bed. I don't know when I'll get back to it, but at least it's something to start with...

With my experience the three top laptops (notebooks, actually) are, in no particular order, Toshiba, IBM and Apple. Apple of course is much more expensive. Toshiba is by far the best value out there for quality and price. IBMs are pricy too. I avoid Dell, Gateway and Compaq like the plague. HP has improved since they're trying to put their notebooks back at a higher level now that they took over Compaq, they leave the Compaq as the low-buck line. Dell has gone back to having different levels so if you want to spend a lot more to get something with a Dell name you can get something decent. I just can't justify to most of my clients to spend the money when they can get far better value with a Toshiba. I have two and couldn't be more pleased. The one is a year old and the other is about 6 years old with hard use. Desktops can't be compared to notebooks. I still far prefer a custom built desktop from a competent builder over any of the mass-produced junkboxes. The cost isn't much more but the value is far more. All that said, even the lower quality units can be OK if you take proper care of them.

I love your idea but why would you need to spray paint it? Wouldn't it just be easier to replace the pink shades and crystals with light blue ones? The shades shouldn't be too hard to change out, and here's a link that offers blue crystals

Notice that is uses 3 25 watt candelabra lightbulbs. I only mention this because we have a similar ceiling fan light in one of the rooms in this rental house, and the lighting is not adequate for my purposes.

Thank you all SO much for your replies. My, y'all are quick! Punkyman, thanks for the links. I will definitely share them with DD. lukkiirish I don't need to spray paint this one, I was saying that if someone found one with clear crystals that wasn't white that I didn't mind spray painting it. I appreciate the link to the crystals. I would prefer to find something ready-made with clear crystals (or aqua) as the cost of replacing them adds up very quickly....however, I will keep that in mind as an option. And dekeoboe, thanks for the tip on the light output. She will have a couple of lamps for task lighting, so this will be purely ambient lighting but I appreciate you pointing it out to me.

I am considering putting a chandelier in my dd's room too. Like your daughter, she really needs and uses her ceiling fan. We are considering two options . One is a chandelier floor lamp -saw a darling one at Home Goods recently. Hesitated and of course it's gone. The other option we are thinking about is using a chandelier that has a plug attached, rather than a hard-wired configuration. Then we can plug it into an outlet and hang it from a hook where it will not interfere with the fan. Maybe this would work for you too?

OHHHHH, ok, I didn't quite understand that part or read your post thoroughly enough I guess. It sounds beautiful, I hope when the room is done you'll post some pics!

Will the air movement from the fan make the crystals hit each other or the lamp itself? If so, it might be noisy with the fan on.

Not if the fan is of good quality and fan and light kit are installed properly.
