Lightweight Cookware Safe For Glass Cooktops - Please Help
Comments (8)Thanks for your replies! I decided not to use my old Revereware because my manufacturer advised against it, plus I needed a new set anyway. Most of the botttoms were not flat, etc. I wanted to reply to this thread in case anyone was searching for the same thing, because I found a really nice set of cookware, REALLY light and inexpensive, and actually is a really nice set. It's called Tools of the Trade Cookright (NOT the Basics line), it's Macy's brand. It is stainless steel with an aluminum disk. http://www1.macys.com/catalog/product/index.ognc?ID=286749&CategoryID=29089 For frying eggs and stuff, I got the same brand (Cookright) but in hard anodized. http://www1.macys.com/catalog/product/index.ognc?ID=392311&CategoryID=29089 I have no problem lifting them even with food in them, very very lightweight. If you have arthritis or fibromyalgia or any type of pain, I would highly suggest them. The stainless are dishwasher safe, but my husband has hand washed them so far because they are easy to clean and so pretty. Eventually I'm sure they'll make their way to the dishwasher. The hard anodized pans are NOT dishwasher safe. The box says they are safe for glass cooktops, and there were many other surfaces too, although now the box is gone and I can't list the surfaces, but I think it was safe for most I could think of. Hope this helps someone out there like me! Thanks again for the replies!...See MoreHELP with cookware for Glass cooktop

Comments (10)Nahhh...mistreating these machines would be if you put some bricks in there and ran it through a cycle...dog hair or cotton fuzz not so much. Buy the way...did you run your "Installation Cycle"? (Page 12 of the Installation Instruction Manual). You may want to (if you can) shake out heavily covered items with animal hair outside first so you don't have so much hair left in the machine (this is where classic high water level top loaders excel). As you play with your washer and learn how each cycle works (some cycles may use more water), you can use those cycles to wash the doggie items or heavy fuzzy items. I wish ALL front load washers had a "Water Plus" option to help with really dirty or "fuzzy" items to help wash/rinse these types of things away. I've written to Electrolux and they don't see the need for the added feature for additional water use....See MoreHelp! Our painter ruined our new kitchen
Comments (11)You might be able to rub some thinner on the stained surfaces to pull out some of the color and then stain with the correct color, but this is a long shot. If there is any finish on the trim, then it needs to be stripped or sanded down to raw wood, and with the labor time involved in something like that, you may want to consider just replacing the trim to see which route would be more cost effective. Also, just because there was no contract doesn't always mean the painter has no obligation to fix something he screwed up. If he's an honorable guy and this is clearly his fault, then he should fix it for free or have his reputation damaged....See Moremarialm66
