yes for those that watch Housewives of Beverly Hills they saw one in use on the show where Camile had a dinner party and her guest Allison Dubois (the one the show Medium was based on) was "smoking" one all through the dinner.

This is from my DD who was able to quit cigarettes after 3 days with the e-cigarette. She tried some different types until she found which ones work well.

Check out this site http://www.volcanoecigs.com/, the inferno kit is a good deal and includes a battery with a usb pass-through charger which means you can vape while it is charging. I smoked a pack and a half for over 20 years and with this have been smoke free for almost one year now. This company is known for its excellent customer service and friendly forum which has lots of helpful videos. Go for the bigger battery if you are a heavy smoker those small battery's that look like a cigarette size just won't last you long enough.

I, too, hope he is able to quit permanently. The only time I've seen any one use the E-cigs is on the Housewives of BH, and at a dinner party at Camille Grammers house, she had a guest/friend who was so weird, and 'smoked' one of them.

While I was at the hairdressers, I overheard a conversation between 2 women. One said her toddler grandson liked to pretend he was "smoking" so much he was always sticking things in his mouth. So to make it safer (more sanitary) his parents bought him an E cigarette. Both women thought it was a good idea. I guess so.

I think its a fantastic idea. My DDIL has quit, my neighbor and many of my friends have also. No more smell or stink and much cheaper & safer without all the chemicals.

IMO the only thing sillier than those things is those nicotine inhalers. If you need a pacifier that bad, grab a toothpick or a straw, or your thumb, or a pacifier! Sheesh. And then there's the nicotine gum, and the needles in the ear, hypnotism and whatever else. Does it ever end? I'm reminded of WKRP and the "John the Baptist shower curtains" and "Dead Sea Scroll Steak Knives"!

It's amazing on what crazy ideas television (and email and other things) can convince people to part with their money.

Oh geez, and giving one of those things to a toddler? That's sick!

I am all for NRT but my fear with these is that you will never break the habit of "smoking" whether actual or fake. Half the battle of deciding to become smoke free is breaking that habit of having something to pacify you. Like holding and inhaling on a smoke. I would be afraid that I would just start up again. I feel free now that I'm not a slave to anything. The patch helped through the first 12 weeks until I didn't need it anymore. Now I'm in control!
But if it works for you, I guess I'm for it! Anything that gets you off inhaling all that poison has got to be a good thing!

I'm with mush. The "habit" of lighting one up first thing in the morning, as soon as you get in your car, right after any meal, with coffee, with alcohol, with anything, is just as hard to break as getting over the nicotine. I would be afraid of keeping the "habit" of smoking going even if you have conquered the nicotine addiction. Just my thoughts, there's no one right way to quit. The best way is whatever works for you. Continued luck!

Yes, vaping is addictive also. When you quit a habit its best to quit it all. But.... if you want to get off nicotine slowly try this and go to 0 nicotine then finally be done with it. JMO

To each their own. I say whatever helps you stop smoking, works. It's vapor. Not harmful. Smokes are. If the carrot sticks worked, he would eat them. But like me, when I used to smoke, the first thing I wanted after I ate was a smoke. Nicotine is a VERY addictive drug. Vapor isn't. If he ends up using this fake smoke for the rest of his life, that's okay. His health won't suffer. Just his pocket book.

I used the patch for 2 weeks. I've been smoke free 16 years. I traded smokes for food. Gained and lost 30 pounds a few times since. I traded cigarettes for Cherry Blasters.

I don't agree letting a child 'smoke' an electronic smoke is a good idea. While it's not harmful, it's giving the wrong message to the child.

I saw the Beverly Hills Housewives when Camille's medium was smoking one. I had never seen one before but that woman seemed so evil and the way she fondled that electric cigarette made me laugh. I think she should just put them all down for good. LOL.

Seriously though, for people who are trying to quit I think they are great..just don't fondle them. LOL

These things have nicotine, so if my toddler loves playing with band-aids, maybe I should get her a patch?! That is nuts. I am a smoker, use the e-cig when I am travelling. Can't imagine giving one to a child.

These cigs have nicotine in them but you can wean down to Zero correct? I would not consider them harmless if your still introducing nicotine into your system. But I am sure it is nice for the lungs. I tried them but did not like the flavor. Maybe I just had the wrong one.

Yes the e-cigarettes have nicotine BUT, they don't have tar and the other additives real cigarettes have. At least that's how I interpret it.

There is no nicotine in the electronic cigarettes my son has. 0 ziltch nada none

Thanks everyone. I am considering trying to coax my husband into trying it. The only one I ever saw was with the mean lady at
Camille's dinner party. I was curious about others' experiences with it. I quit many years ago and I know how hard it is.

All of the ones I have seen advertised and mentioned do contain nicotine. I would just say do some research because the FDA is trying to ban them, the info I read and watched said they contain nicotine as well as one of the ingredients in antifreeze. I did see one brand that offered a no nicotine cartridge but all the other do have the nicotine.

as always best to do some serious research on anything we would put in our bodies.

You can buy NO nicotine e-liquid or even make your own. Compared to smoking its a great idea and no tar or all the other chemicals. I know of almost 20 people that have quit smoking because of the E-Cig. Its also less expensive then smoking and no STINK!
