Hi Jessica,In a nut shell ,the stock tank comes with a side/bottom drain,so if on land, you can drain it ... But I installed a shower drain in the middle/bottom of the stock tank (and sloped the ground towards the center),and I also installed a pool skimmer on the side (just under the little bridge ,you can't see it )(There once was a pool here and I am pool savy.)..The pool pump is also under the bridge ,The pump draws water from the bottom drain I installed and from the skimmer ....if the water level falls below the skimmers lowest point it will draw water from the bottom drain only...the skimmer gets grass bugs etc....the bottom drain gets the sand etc.....once thru the pump the water is filterd thru the ole pool filter (100 pound sand filter ) once filtered it is discharged thru a "tee" and is delived back to the stock tank and also up to the black pond where it waterfalls back into the stock tank (I can control the water flow to the black pond with a valve....) So it really is a pool more than a pond,a little clorox from time to time (1/4 cup) and the pump/filter running 8 hours aday is all it takes to keep it clean ...There is always a little dirt in the bottom,I don't keep it so clean kids would want to jump in ....and every now and then I need to disassemble the pump to clean the impellar of a small rock or grass....but dog hair does not seem to be an issue .... Anyone is more than welcome to drive to my home and see this and see all my mistakes .....next year I hope to improve the pond a bit more ....see ya Jim BTW, if you come, bring a big rock with ya would ya ,I want to hide more of the black pond!

Ojos ~how cute! Yeah, Lily has a blue eye & yellow eye. And she's a monster b**** ~she terrorizes my other cat and acts like a territorial male. Oh well LOL! :-) And yep, French marigolds...hopefully they form buds soon. I planted way too many seeds this year, and way too many pepper seeds! :-)

Cynic, tell your friend to use this "recipe" for a skunk wash. The dog will be ready to come in the house as soon as he's dry. This really works DeSkunk Formula Easy, Effective, Low Cost 1 quart (32 oz.) hydrogen peroxide 1 quart warm water 3 tablespoons Dawn Dish soap (DAWN is best; it breaks down oil; skunk scent is oil-based.) ½ box of baking soda Mix all these ingredients in a small pail. Work the solution into the dogÂs hair and let it stand for 15-20 minutes. Concentrate mostly on the areas where he was actually hit by the skunk. If his collar was hit, you can wash it with this solution, too. Use a rag or sponge and keep patting the solution into the hair to get it thoroughly soaked. Keep sponging him with the solution while youÂre timing it. DonÂt get it in his eyes or mouth. Rinse the dog very well and towel dry. Repeat if necessary, depending on how much spray actually got on him. Use old towels to dry him. The peroxide may lighten his hair, especially if heÂs in the sun a lot. This solution works very effectively. WeÂve used it many, many times on Harry! He was able to come in the house right after being washed and dried off. We keep a several "skunk kits" made up. We store two 16-ounce bottles of peroxide, a small bottle of Dawn, old cleaning rags, and a box of baking soda in a 2 ½ gallon water jug thatÂs had the top removed.. Open the ingredients, pour them in the jug, add a quart of water and youÂre in business! Wes keeps one kit in the truck during the warm months.

When I had my GreatDane, he would lay down and my little toy fox terrier would cuddle up between his front legs up under his chin and all you could see was 2 little beady eyes and a tiny black nose. It was hilarious to see them together. He was well over a hundred lbs and at the time she was under 5lbs. My vet would laugh every time we walked in together. Great pictures.
