Powell Buff Benjamin Moore???
Comments (4)I have chips of Powell Buff and Pittsfield Buff, and a sample board of Powell. I don't know if my chips are off but I can barely see the faintest of difference between these - but on the walls in pics on these forums Pittsfield looks like a pale yellow. To answer your question, I think the Powell is pretty and woiuld not be too dark in a bedroom. I'm thinking of it for ours, hoping it will give warmth to the walls without making the room too bright. Comments (18)Paucie, paint is tough - I am no expert. I ask much more than I answer. The thing is that every paint looks different in every room in every house. SW Blonde is a color a lot of people here use and love. My son was finishing his basement rec room and I thought I would start with that color. It was awful. I also tried another color, Jersey Cream. It looked like a nice soft, creamy yellow on the chip. It looked like a stoplight in his room. I forget what we ended up with. It is also hard to tell from the monitor what colors are going to look like. Some of it is personal preference, i.e., lighter, darker. You also seem to have to deal with the light that comes, or does not come, into the room. I don't think that little swatches on the wall are enough. Get some poster board and paint a large area. Then you can move it around and see it in different lights. Of course, I am partial to the Shelburne, but it is hard to see, especially in the second picture as it is with so many colors and against the blue. It almost looks like it pulls out a bit of the red of the woodwork. I know I'm not much help - good luck...See MoreDoes anyone know of a color very close to Powell Buff with no und
Comments (18)If you open the BM page with the big square of Powell Buff in one window, then open another window and put the square of Bracken Cream right next to it. Bracken cream is much lighter and reflects a lot more light, i.e.: LRV is 73.52, while Powell Buff's LRV is 60.08. Next, push your laptop screen away from you, and see how each color intensifies. That gives you and idea as to what the undertones are. I did them next to the Powell Buff. It actually looks like the Cornice Tan is identical to Powell Buff, so scratch that color. Bracken Cream and Cornice Tan are both from the Williamsburg Collection, which is new, and the stores don't have the samples in the larger cans yet. However, they can mix the color for you in a pint. Your problem may simply be that yellows/creams/beiges don't do well in low and artificial light. Are you set on a beige? You don't have any pics of the hallway, do you?...See MoreMonroe Bisque and Powell Buff--What's the Difference?
Comments (1)I was torn between Powell Buff and Monroe Bisque when I painted my foyer. They are very similar and loved them both. I went with Powell Buff since I wanted a more gold tone. Monroe Bisque is more green. When I Panted them side by side on poster board you could hardly tell the difference....See MoreCaroleOH
