Went to the ER and it is broke. Doctor was very nice and told me I did the right thing attempting to tape them together. X-ray showed it is broke and because of where the break is the doctor wants me to wear one of those lovely "shoes" for a couple weeks. That way my foot will sit right and hopefully the break will heal properly. They all know me in the ER and know what I am dealing with so all were very nice and got me taken care of right away. Now, on the way in the door of the ER my dad stepped the wrong way and pulled a muscle in his calf! I ran in to a PT guy we know and he said that if it continues to bother him I should get him checked out because of his age but more than likely it is just a pull so he showed me some exercises he can do to make it better. Dear Lord I hope this is it for a while! We did go see mom and she is being released back to the nursing home today. The doctor called me this morning and said her liver and kidney functions, still has "rattle" in her chest but that is better also. She looks and sounds much better. Doctor said he thinks some of the throwing up comes from her shoving too much food in her mouth at one time, so he is ordering speech therapy to work with her more at the home so she gets in the habit of smaller bites. Dad and I just came home as there was no need for us to sit there and wait for transport for her. Mom was not too happy but that is just too bad, my toe hurts right now and is all swollen. I know in a day or so it will not be so tender but right now I am going to baby ME! How's that for a self centered attitude? LOL!

Patty, it's been five weeks today and one serious buyer and five just curious to see the basement because they loved the pictures and wanted to get ideas. The one serious buyer was ready to make an offer however his 16 year old daughter was calling the shots; she said the home was too big; no way. Home is immaculate, unmarked floors, carpet and walls, exceptionally clean and is supported by the feedback received (even from tire-kickers); it's just two of us living here, no pets or kids with us. Sure this home is priced higher than COMPS but comes with significant upgrades. I understand I won't recover value of upgrades but at least 30-40%; then what do I know. Dropped the price, new price showing on MLS since yeaterday, all sites are still not updated and now waiting for a reaction. The feedback below was before the price drop; absolutely everyone had the same comments about the property condition. If I were not moving coast to coast, I'd be tempted to just lock up, move, be closer to our daughter and commence building the new home; one can't leave a home unattended with no one but cameras to take care. 1. pbrisjar, It sounds like you are asserting some control over your kitchen! Good for you girl! I think DIY on a tight budget can be one of the hardest tests for a marriage. I bumped into a friend at the store who said she'd just finished a DIY kitchen and she loved it. While talking, I said you loved it, cuz you paid other people to do it for you AND she had no snags at all! (Everyone's idea of DIY is different!:>) We are totally renovating our house from top to bottom, and other than installation of the hardwood floor, granite, windows, and the gasline, we've done it ALL ourselves. That isn't even the hardest part, the hardest is trying to do the best job for the least amount of money. Juggling what you really want with what you can really afford is much harder than the actual work. Perhaps a useful exercise might be for you guys to each write down a list of priorities, and then come to some consensus on what will be done, and in what order. My DH is like yours in that it doesn't bother him to have paint cans in DR, screws and baseboards on kitchen counter, tape and level and tools on buffet in LR, window trim leaning against wall in BR, etc. His 'mess tolerance' is so much higher than mine, it's like talking to someone from a different planet (Mars perhaps?) Sure hope your stain issue gets resolved- we hired a carpenter to finish up the last parts of our kitchen cabinets, and an estimated 10 day job has taken 2 months, and we just got an email last Tuesday, saying that the first coat of finish had an adverse reaction to the stain, and that they had to sand everything off and start over. This is one time I'm glad we paid someone else...wouldn't want to be doing this ourselves. So, I feel your pain!
