My Thread - 'Nothing to Post About'

One gal suggested we all start a post today - Good for you! Great idea that more people do this! But do many of you have the same problem as I do of not being able to think of anything to post about?

I have the same problem. There are things I could post, but they'd be mean spirited, controversial,too personal, or in bad taste.

Yes you do--weather---friends who need out special thoughts--good place to eat---thoughts about spring, gardens, traveling etc. Sometimes just a line or so makes all of us feel better like someone does care.

Well, there she is!! Miss Betsy Blue Eys! I could just eat that dog UP! I have to confess to being a dog lover, too. She is just adorable, and a little spit-fire, I bet. She has the sweetest face, and she is so tiny. Just a doll of a dog. And probably one of the most pampered pooches on the planet. And congrats to everyone who has a child graduating this year, be it high school or college. The parents deserve a big pat on the back as they watch their children take the early steps to fledging! Our daughter made it out of college in 4 years, but that SON ... we thought he was going to be a lifer. SIX YEARS for a four year degree. We had someone in college for over ELEVEN straight years. I am sure there are many of us out there who did the same or more. It was definitely worth it.....until they say something monumentally stupid ..... and then you want a REFUND on that tuition money! Something like that Linda. I think a torcher is someone that lights the torches at the Olympic games, or it could be someone that uses a torch to weld things together. What the heck....they both have something to do with fire!!!LOL Diana P.S...Like that Evil Jessy.....I know she has fire in her sole !!! LOL hehe

@Trail, my husband laughs and says these aren't mountains just hills. He's from California and thinks I'm funny calling them mountains. It's the Georgia hills around the Civil War battlefields, different ones on different days.. There are definite trails and lately have just been going straight up the paved road with all the rain and then it is just so vertical running down. I haven't got the stamina to run up but do walk it fast. It's so cold I want to go as fast as I personally can which is more like the St. Petersburg shuffle but I'll take it. It took me almost a year to work up to being able to do it nonstop both ways without resting, gaining some speed. At first I would come home and nearly pass out the rest of the day but now I find it is giving me more energy. I always walked but never this hard and then one day I just thought I would like to start running and so I did a little more each day. I could only go a little way at first and then worked up to it. I ran a lot when I was way younger but was always getting hurt with either ankle, knee, hip. Something. I would go for miles but had to stop with the injuries. I admire people who I see out there older than me running straight up that mountain, that is my goal. I envy that their body is still able to bear it. The old joints just don't hold up that well. My neighbor still runs marathons in her 50's and there are many way older also. I'm so envious of them.

Hmm, I notice that only through my phone which I think directs to Houzz directly? I do still have "shop Houzz" stuff at the bottom though. On my computer I am still using my old GW link which directs me here but the address bar says: ths.gardenweb.com/discussions/3458514/after-posting-in-a-thread-cursor... After reading this Linelle I am definitely keeping my old GW back door entry - I have both kitchens and building a home bookmarked that way. I don't need to see all that stuff. When I come here it's because I want to be HERE browsing GW discussions not houzz pics.

I read here almost daily but seldom post. I have strong views on many subjects but keep my comments somewhat low key when I do post. Which makes me realize, I am pretty much the same person at age 65 as I was as a teen - quiet but definitely opinionated.

Memo to some of you who feel it necessary to keep your opinion(s) to yourself ...

... surely, with all of the years of experience that you've been through, you can figger ways to dress them up appropriately enough that :

-we won't shoot you, and

-the censors here won't light a fire under your ... behind!

Sometimes a bit of fresh air (even a ray o' sunlight) tends to freshen up even our darker thoughts.

I've been working outside today. Doing some weeding, checking on my wildflowers....several trilliums up and bloodroot just barely peeking through, no blooms yet and virginia bluebells are starting to stick their little heads up too. Headed back outside to do some weeding in the raised vegetable beds, won't get finished but whatever I get done will help. Did I say it is a beautiful day in the neighborhood!
