Saw a beautiful sunrise this morning--lots of orange, so pretty!

Washing throw rugs, cleaning the bathroom. I'll be making tacos for dinner, so must go to the store for that. Also need to rest as I hurt my back. Weather is cooling, we may get a bit of rain. A couple of my daffys have popped too. They don't last long enough.

Gorgeous and sunny here, too--haven't been out the door, so don't know about the temp. (we have a mail slot in our door, so while I did get the mail, didn't have to go out to do it--LOL).

Kind of a slow day here. Bit draggy from the cold DD gave me. But I did do some touching up of the floor, where it's gotten scratched or worn over the years. And have a load of wash in. Later, DH and I have appts for our regular check-ups, then we'll probably go out for dinner.

It's sunny and 42 degrees here, but there's a cold wind. I was just outside watering my compost and it was COLD!! I think I'm going to skip walking the dogs today because they don't like the wind.

I've been doing paperwork all morning- copying and forwarding medicals and submitting invoices for reimbursement and stuff. I thought I would be done by 11:00, but I have a little more to do. Yuck. When I finish that stuff, I'm going to go into the sewing/craft room and see what damage I can do...lol.

It was sunny here for a short while. Temperature is still just under 30.
I volunteer at the hospital this afternoon. I made minestrone soup in the crock pot so my dinner is taken care of.
Yesterday morning my Sunday paper was not on my porch like it is supposed to be, so I walked down the steps to fetch it. I slipped and fell on my bottom down 4 steps. Ouch. Now I have a nice BIG bruise on my butt cheeks and a scrape and bruise on my arm. I had no idea those steps were slippery.

Pretty day here too some scattered clouds and blue sky a break from the rains. It is currently 54 in my area of Houston.
I have some beautiful Iris in bloom in my front bed and my azalea has some pretty pink blooms on it. My lantana is also full of blooms. So many trees here are budding and blooming already.
The weeds in the back yard need some serious mowing but it has rained so much the back yard is very wet. We sure need the rain with the horrible drought we have been in and still are in according to the weather forecasters.

It's sunny and warm here today. It's almost 80 so by the time the afternoon's over, I'm sure it will reach that. Doors and windows open. So nice!

I spent the morning cleaning the kitchen and Florida room. They both really needed it, since that's where we spend most of our time. Washed down the cabinet fronts (they're white and show everything), cleaned the countertops, scoured the sink and cleaned the stove top. Then I swept and steamed the kitchen floor and the FR floor. Got the last of the laundry I did yesterday folded and put away. I usually do it as I go, but I just wore out. I need to clean out both my refrigerators, Sue. Hard telling what I'll find hiding in the back.

My lower back is killing me so I decided to take a long break. :-)

Linda in Iowa--ouch! Glad all you got is bruised. That sure sounds painful.

Ravencajun, I keep hoping some of that rain will head to Florida but so far it hasn't happened. We really need it, too.

i keep thinking surely the snow has to come sometime...can't complain. my electric bill for was under $200...a first for jan. we'd cut way back on the christmas lights and that helped...our gas bill has been good, too...

It was a gorgeous day here in my part of Ohio. My sister and I were able to make it out to take the nearly an hour trek to go do 'big' grocery day. I had to stop in at the hospital where I was just before Christmas to pay my copay. They had it so messed up, I was leery of missing out on the 10% discount, so I went in and paid, rather than send in the mail.

We carried in my spoilables. The rest are in the trunk for when my son gets off work. Does anyone LIKE putting away groceries? I know I don't.

Another sunny and beautiful day here in Southern Oregon, expected high of 52-54. It is our 'false spring' that we usually get here on the west coast. Our fruit trees were sprayed (first time we have hired someone to do that) this morning so we are hoping for fruit this summer. No rain in sight, only sprinkles and we are behind on our rain (and snow) needs. I start a new program of injections today for chronic anemia. UGH

It's a good day for me because I'm feeling better! Earlier I posted about my terrible head cold that went into my chest. Started Saturday to take the Mucinex DM that someone suggested and by 3:30am this morning I was still coughing but the good kind of coughing if you know what I mean. Put the cats out and went back to bed, and I was actually able to lay down and sleep after three nights of sitting up. My chest didn't feel as congested. Headache is gone, nose just a bit stuffed up but drippy, still coughing but not nearly as much.

Anyhow. Today I chopped up five bunches of celery that I got at Drug Mart - 5 for $1 - to put in freezer bags. Also bought five huge green peppers at 5 for $2. I would have chopped those too but I broke my Vadalia Chop Wizard. :( I've used it so much over the last four years. So I ordered another one from Target this morning!

Schoolhouse, glad you're feeling better. I don't know what I'd do if my Vadalia Chop Wizard broke. I use mine all the time, too. Sure makes fixing vegetable soup easy.

Schoolhouse, I was wondering about you this morning. Hope you continue to improve each day. I'll have to check out the chop wizard.

It's 59 degrees and sunny, just like spring. I'm not ready for spring though.

The neighborhood itself is quiet today. It was quite noisy on Saturday with all the chain saws and bulldozers cleaning up the downed trees from the ice storm a couple of weeks ago. Today everyone is back to work and it's quiet.

I go to work in a little while, have a conference call at 3:00 today, then work until this evening.

We had a sunny warm weekend in the 70s, but now it is grey, cooler and getting ready to rain tonight or tomorrow. Our neighborhood has 4 homes with contstruction projects, so we are seeing lots of trucks and dirt.

I feel like I should be planting flower seeds today.

Here in the Wash DC area it is in the 50s and I see no sign of a change. Wonder what the heck will happen this summer if the winter is this mild. Can't remember any time we have lived like this.

One year ago today the horrible blizzard started and shut us down.
