Spring Garden Show coming up
Comments (38)I am so sorry to hear of your bad experience! I remember Aloha T. Saying the plants would be on sale the last day. What a gyp! Upland is just too rich for my blood. Did you stop and talk to Mona Lisa? She only had cuttings, and it aounds to me like you bought only potted plants. Many of her cuttings she gave me bloomed late last summer after rooting in April, and I was quite pleased. I am glad to hear you stopped at JJ. I wish I could go there someday, but I hate the long drive from La Verne! Although I am glad I haven't gone, because I would bring back more plants! I have been to the show twice, last year and this year. I won't go again either. Last year I didn't spend much time. I have been to Upland Nursery on my own, and there plants are nice but way aver proced! This year I took the time to stop and look closely at every plumeria grower. Since I have decided to only buy named varieties from ow on, alot of the displays were unnamed, so I wasn"t interested. At least MonaLisa"s were all cuttings of named varieties. I have way too many now. I certainly don't need more! Good luck with your new plants No-Clue. By the way, you can post pictures using Photobucket, along with a few other websites. I use Photobucket because they have an app for the iPad. Take care everyoen, happy blooming! Jennifer...See MoreCat acting up at night
Comments (17)I actually came here today to ask this same question, but I realized I already did last year! Same cat is still doing the same routine. Which makes me feel better as I'm now certain it's not a health problem or I would have seen other issues by now. He scratches and howls at the door if I close it, and if I open it he runs in circles around the room. Jumping up on my bed, purring madly then jumping down, running into the bathroom and yipping, making yowling noises at the window, jumping back on the bed. Almost always between 2 and 4 AM. So frustrating!!! I wonder if it's related to the cooler temperatures as it didn't seem to be such an issue earlier this year. He's 5 now. No other issues at all. It must just be his personality but the thing is, he KNOWS he's being bad. If he cries and scratches at the door enough that I have to get up at 3 AM, he turns and runs from the door like a bat out of hell so he doesn't get in trouble. I usually find him acting all cute in the living room where he'll wrap around my legs and purr and act all innocent then when I stumble back into my room, he'll dart in. Little brat. He sure has me trained! Good thing he's cute!...See Moreshow me your faucet set up with undermount sinks.
Comments (66)Patches: Yes, very handy that the soap dispenser can put soap in either sink with this set up. However, it looks like you'd HAVE TO use the pulldown on the faucet to fill the big sink or fill a pot sitting in the big sink. The "reach" of the faucet spigot only comes to the top of the sink bridge. Is that a good thing? Doesn't look so handy from my photo view of this set up....See MoreHello. please help me, this animal showed up in my room
Comments (4)I had a squirrel (?) crawl down a vent pipe in my bathroom and die a few years back. I ended up with a rain of maggots coming into the bathroom through the ventilation fan. I put a jar of alcohol up on a ladder to catch the maggots that fell and was able to "contain" the epidemic. Unfortunately, a few days after the maggots stopped, hundreds (maybe thousands) of big flies hatched out and from the carcass and came down through the vent. My bathroom looked like some scene out of a horror movie with big black flies EVERYWHERE! Fortunately, I had managed to keep the door closed and contained all the flies into that one room where I could spray insecticide and sweep up the dead bodies later. It wasn't a particularly good time though....See More- 17 years ago
