Comments (29)Laetitia, The smaller the marker is the less likely it is to get away. All I have on my markers is a reference number. When I set out a new group of iris the numbers are in sequence so if one or more get lost or pulled up by animals it is very easy to figure out what the missing number or numbers are. I have had several that were pulled up by what I believe were deer. I have mine stuck deeply in the ground and they have to leave teeth markers on the marker to pull them out. The only draw back to this method is that I need to bring my reference book with me to ID iris if I don't remember what they are. I do this often anyway because I have a page for each iris to keep notes. Since I have only been at this 3 years and only have about 250 different iris I know what most of them are. Comments (13)Judy, I'd wager it's worth every penny and more of the $1,595 one that is similar even with the socket that has been changed out. I still think it's a lamp from the Arts & Craft period (turn of the century) and most likely (after seeing the shade) it's slag. I think it's gorgeous, green included, and don't you dare clean it now that we've seen it. BTW...did I mention, I crave that lamp? That's just too bad about Dh's sis. LOL Anyway...clean the slag with a damp cloth. It's not as fragile as mica. Have you found any markings on the metal? Look around the rim and on the underside. I hope you're going to keep it. Really...it's simply marvelous....See MoreCopper Bathtub !! What color vanity pairs best?
Comments (41)beesneedsWe have a tankless water heater that sits about 12 feet (on the outside of the house) from where the tub is installed. The tankless provides unlimited hot water at call. They are also VERY eco-friendly and conserve energy (not always heating and re-heating like the tank-style water heaters). Lowering both our gas bill and water bill! I obviously won't be taking baths every night ~ or even every week... And there would never be a desire to fill the tub all the way to capacity whenever it is in use. I just love how big it is for a fun bath playtime (or indoor "pool" time in the hot California summers) for my 3 small children. They can splash around and not make a total disaster on the bathroom floor. To answer your second question, I wouldn't think you'd want to leave water standing inside copper for days upon end... mostly because stagnant water breeds bacteria and I've been instructed to not put any cleaning chemicals or even products like Epsom Salt in the tub since it can scratch the finish. If you anticipate getting something like this tub for an outdoor pool, I'd contact a professional to discuss if its a good idea for long-term standing water. :)...See Morecloud_9
