Tree House Recipes

I was just at the KT Gathering Place site and noticed a page called "Tree House Recipes". Does this by any chance come from and old ivillage forum call the Tree House? I belonged to that YEARS ago and was curious if this was the same place. There was a gal on there that I lost touch with, she was very encouraging to me when I quit smoking. Think about that place (and her) every now & then.

I used to go to the Tree House also, but I've been locked out for a long time. I wonder who is there now.

Oh, I didn't even know it still existed! How'd you get locked out, were you "naughty"?? ;)

My mom posted one of her favorites on that site... 2-Layer Pumpkin Pie http://recipesfromthehome.com/htms/dess01.html * 3 oz. package cream cheese, softeneed * 1 cup and 1 tbsp. half and half or milk * 1 tbsp. sugar * 1 1/2 cup thawed Cool Whip * 1 graham cracker crust * 2 packages instant vanilla pudding * 16 oz. can pumpkin * 1 tsp. cinnamon * 1/2 tsp. ground ginger * 1/4 tsp. ground cloves/li> Mix cream cheese, 1 tbsp half and half or milk, and sugar with wire whisk until smooth. Gently stire in cool whip. Spread mixture on bottom of pie crust. Pour 1 cup half and half or milk into bowl. Add pudding. Beat until blended. Let sit for 3 minutes. Stir in pumpkin and spices. There was a dill pickle recipe posted here long ago. The pickles tasted like Claussen's. It was for a small patch of home grown cucs and you added them as you got them. I meant to ask you Wanda, is this the same Tree House that originally started at the old "women.com" boards? I think it was about 1996 or 1997 that I joined there. I think when it switched to ivillage is when I sort of lost touch with people. Hard to believe that was over 15 years ago!

juellie, I'm not sure what you are asking or if anyone answered your question but I've been here (on the gardenweb forum) since almost the beginning and don't recall that it was ever part of or related to a Tree House forum.

Not to say that some or even many people didn't maybe visit both. But, I believe this site was originally independantly run and always called The Kitchen Table. Someone please correct me if I am wrong.

Thanks Carla - I was asking if the Tree House used to be on women.com (seperate from Kitchen Table/Garden Web). It had a totally different set-up and when women.com was sold to ivillage, the structure changed and I kind of drifted away.

There was a gal named Bach on there and she was VERY instrumental in helping me quit smoking. She was so motivational. Lost touch with her and wondered if that could possibly be the same board. I don't think so though. Thanks for trying to clarify for me! :)

The Tree House was not an iVillage forum. Like Kitchen Table Too and Our Humble Home, it was a spin-off from the Kitchen Table. I think it was started by people who had ridden the tea cups, compliments of Spike. I didn't get banned from the Tree House--I just didn't post for a long time and I can't log in now (I'm sure JayJay would probably open the door for me, if I asked nicely).

In the olden days, there were a lot of forums, but not enough time to frequent all of them. The Kitchen Table was my favorite forum, so that's where I have spent the majority of my time. I do miss the wonderful old chats we had--we got together two evenings a week and chatted for hours...till they closed the room on us.

Juellie, I don't remember Bach, but maybe some of the other old-timers do.

Thanks Wanda; if it wasn't an ivillage board, then it's not the one I was thinking of. I never did enjoy "chats", could never keep up! Is there such a thing as chat rooms anymore? I suppose so, but with texting and instant messaging, tweeting, etc. I bet not as many people use them.
