You did great! You shoulda called me, I would've come to do it for you. And for as little as a garden tour. You're no wimp. A wimp is defined as a weak, cowardly, or ineffectual person. You were none of the above. You held in there, were determined to do it, and very effectual at getting those bulbs in. Great job!

hey JAG i have no clue what it will do in zone 7 .... it seems to me... based on pix dates ... that it is about a 2 week show .... up here for me .... but it really depends on ambient temps .... it has to be warm enough for the pungens to bud .... but if it stays cool enough, once they push ... then the show is 2 weeks .... but some years .... it seems to go straight to july temps .... and the show can be very short ... the dates on the pix indicate that this happens, pretty reliably around 5/20 .. the only problem being.. i never went out and snapped a pic after it turned green ... how that translates to your zone, is speculation counselor ... if i were you ... i would go cheap and small .. and enjoy the heck out of it for as long as you can.. you can probably get it for less than a fancy lunch.. so what is the hesitation ... growth rate ... a bit less than a green tree ... or a blue ... but since it reverts to green ... it is basically the annual growth rate of pungens ... good luck ken

I know a propagator here that always has some newer plants Van den busche Nursery (no website). He doesn't know anything about it's history. He said it was basically a gold blue spruce. I never know of the vailidity of some of these plants. It seems like every day somebody releases a new plant (not just conifers) and renames it and presto... come and get it. That is why I posted the question hoping somebody else may have this plant in their garden. There must be a dozen or so gold Colorado spruces out there. Redwing Conifer, since you posted that link from Buchholz, I feel that this may be a legitimate plant because of the 2 sources (he doesn't buy there). Not too sure how glorious this one is going to be though... Jan, has a 3 gallon "Gold Mine" for me next month when he comes down to pick up his liners. Once I see it, I will compare it with some of the others I have here. Thanks for weighing in. Until then for this one... Darren

Sue, the Etap hotel is a few steps below a motel 6...quite a few steps in fact. LOL! The rooms were tiny, which were expected but the floor was really grungy and the toilet/shower area were a one piece porta potty plastic unit that had been put into a corner of the room. It was very small and the floor area by the toilet got soaked when you showered. The shower stall area was barely big enough to turn around in. Now I wish I had taken a picture! Patti, I think the house I used to live in was torn down and a new one put in it's place, there were a lot of new homes there. The town was very small, just one street with one tiny restaurant and a coffin maker. That was it...not even a post office. Stacy, yeah, I think I should've learned after our trip out west. Some of it was fun but for the most part they weren't interested in a lot of it. I've downloaded my pictures and will start posting them. Wish I had taken more videos, they are pretty funny because they are so BAD! LOL!
