Here's what I did for my awkward paint transition: PICS

I'd been searching forEVER for a decorative sign, shelf, scroll piece, *anything* that would fit perfectly above my kitchen door to allow for a more decorative paint break.

Nothing worked. Either too tall, too short, too narrow, too expensive, etc.

So here's what I came up with today.

I printed out a phrase that I'd wanted to put up on the wall, put carbon paper on the back, traced the letters with a pencil, then copied the stenciled letters with a paint pen for "instant" wall words.

I made a frame out of some scrap trim I had, stained it, and used some of the stain to glaze over the painted letters.

Now I have a customized paint break, all for under $10 and under 4 hours!

I swear, sometimes I love having a limited budget, as it forces me to re-create the things I'd normally spend big bucks on!
