Best type of canister for storing ground coffee?

It's so cool to be past the "which cabinets/countertop/sink/faucet/dishwasher" questions and on to critical issues of dish towels and kitchen utensils. :-)

So I bought a one-pound bag of coffee from Starbucks (love the Cafe Estima!) and had them grind it for me. (Can't cope with buying a grinder yet...or perhaps ever. Please don't scold me for it!) I don't have any canisters to store it in, so I've been using the coffee out of the bag. I'm sure this isn't keeping it fresh enough.

What kind of canister would be best? The ceramic ones are heavy... Would SS would give the coffee a funny taste? What about acrylic? BB&B has these nice squarish glass ones, but I'm not sure if I'm going to keep it in a cabinet or out on the countertop...

Advice, please!

(All of this is, of course, just a way of procrastinating making up my mind about paint color...)
