Where to buy a maroon or brown shower rod cover?

I'm wanting one like at the link below, but in either maroon or brown. I would like to find it in a local store as opposed to having to pay big shipping charges.

I 'had' a dark green one, that I think cost just a few dollars and bought it years ago at WM. I recently updated my bath, and gave my shower curtain and matching dark green cover to a friend.

I really liked having the cover because the shower rings didn't 'catch' on the lip where the 2 shower rod pieces came together. I've only looked at one 'smaller' WM but they didn't have any covers.

Does anyone know of a store (other than on-line) that sells them? If I can't find it in the colors I like, I'd even settle for a white or beige one. Do the bigger WMs maybe carry them?

Did you check Target? Not sure about KMart. Also check some of the places like Menards--Home Depot etc Even Ace hardware carries rods.

No, I've not checked those stores, and none of them are local for me. I was hoping someone would know of a store that actually carries them, so I wouldn't have to actually visit or call all store that 'might' carry the covers.

I did several on-line searches and didn't find any in any brick and morter stores...sigh.

acehardwareoutlet.com carries them, ($13.25 for 12 ($1.10 each)) plus shipping but I'd prefer to not get 12 and have them cost that much.

Yeah, so, the web sites are next to useless. Forgot - I gave up trying to figure it out on Build.com and went to the Moen site, which isn't much better. After I selected, went back to Build.com to buy. My alcove is 58 & 3/8". If you filter on 'Shower Rods' and 'Chrome' (if that's the finish you want - see link below) you get 11 choices. (Note, if you filter on 'Curved Shower Rods' you only get 1 choice - go figure.) With the link below, you throw out the bottom two because they're tension rods and the double rod if you don't want that. Leaves 8. What's the difference besides the price and the end cap? When you check the description, it will say "adjustable for 5' to 6' alcove" - that's the tube within a tube kind. The ones that say "designed to fit a 5' surround securely" means it's a fixed size and you have to cut it if it's too big. Since 5' is 60", I went with CSR2165 and will have to cut off a little less than 2". CSR2166 is the same only for 6' opening (72") or less. With the curved rods, you don't want to be too far away. Cutting off too much won't work, unless you maintain the angle, although the pivoting mounting on some helps. I vote tile floor, but with smaller tiles than 6x6. I've read too many nightmare stories of the pebble floor not draining well leaving standing water in your grout. I do have a question for you: If you don't want alot of grout, why are you looking at a pebble floor? Pebble floors have more grout than even a 2x2 tile floor. Compare the amount of grout (and the varied grout "lines") in tobler's pic above & the amount of grout in my shower using 2x2 tiles in the pic below. The reason for using smaller tiles in a shower floor is that the grout is what gives the traction under your feet to help prevent slipping and falling. The less grout you have, the greater your chances of slipping & falling--6x6 tiles leave very little grout and hence very little traction. You don't have to have huge grout lines either. They can be as small as 1/16". If you're worried about scrubbing, squeegee the walls and floor after every shower then spray an antibacterial cleaner (like Scrubbing Bubbles) once a week on the floor to kill any bacteria that may be there and rinse. That's all the maintenance you will need to do. Tobler has a beautiful shower and from their posts also squeegees to keep it looking like new. Note: The shower floor was not completely dry when this photo was taken so you may see some variation in the grout color. When dry, it is all a Pearl or cream color. When wet, it turns more of a light brown color.

Creative Tile, I also have heard good things.....my plan has totally changed, you can search my name and find my design thread. I'm now doing a 48" neo angle. I want to go USG because they make the custom pan with the drain where I want it, and trimming these pans will obviously create some strange aesthetics at change of plane w/ wall. Problem is, no one wants to sell me one! Here in NJ, only distributor within 90 minutes are HD stores. I call them, and they don't know the custom pan exists. Local tile guy has Wedi, but very pricey, and it doesn't seem ideal for a neoangle curb, also no custom pan. I'm assuming you may have a connection with someone who will sell me one? Online USG email support for neo angle sent me back to uninformed home depot, and a general instruction which doesn't address how to wrap the 135 deg. angle. I'm going to call them one last time, if not I'll take my chances with kerdi membrane with a mud deck. 1 question on the USG product...if i go with the new ultralight foam, does it require full membrane, or just the seams? If it requires full membrane, should I just use fiberrock as it will probably be much cheaper? Any ideas how to do the 135 neoangle curb, I'm probably just going to borrow kerdi methods over at johnbridge, and use the sealant for any questionable corners . Thanks so much for your help!

I would love to know what others have done to tighten so their Moen curved tension rod is tighter; it may have simply been the dimensions we were dealing with. It did, however, make a huge difference in the "roominess" feel of the shower. I got the bar to convince my dad that we needed to go with a curved bar for him instead of a straight one. He was NOT convinced! I would consider doing what we did: buy one, carefully open box, slide the clear plastic end protectors toward the center of the rod instead of cutting them off, and then try to tighten it enough so it stays level. If it does not work, put it back into the original packaging and return.

Our daughter painted one to match her decor. It turned out really nice and has held up well, too.

chemocurl, you can do your preliminary shopping on line, in the webpages of any stores you have locally. I'd suggest Wal-Mart, K-Mart, Home Depot, Sears, etc. That way, you can call locally to see if your store has them on hand and probably even have it delivered to your store for free.

My husband LOVES to shop like this...on line, I mean. He'll find out which local store has the best price for what we're looking for...then he's out the door to pick it up.

Well actually the only really local store is WM, Ace, and TrueValue and I didn't find it at those via on line search.

I've searched until I'm about blue in the face, but just found a white one that 'might be' what I am looking for. In reading the description though, I'm not sure, but will check it out the next time I get by a Home Depot. The cover itself is not 'tension' but rather just a split piece of PVC, and you just cut it to length.

If I can only find it in white, I'll just paint it.

My husband LOVES to shop like this...on line, I mean.
I do too, since local shopping is so very limited. When I go shopping out of town, I usually have a few things lined up to buy that I can't find in my hometown, and know where to get the best price. Often too, I will just order things via Amazon because of them having the best price and free shipping.
