I recorded it and just watched it this morning...what a sad, sad story. she was the worst I'd ever seen....so sad that some girls just have to look so skinny and it drives them to this! I couldn't believe how skinny she was. I too hope they can get her back to normal...physically and emotionally.

I saw it. In her case, if I understand it correctly, she wasn't just trying to be thin. She says she was molested and her father blamed her for it and told her she was "bad" and since then she doesn't feel "worthy". That is a hard concept for most of us to understand, at least it is for me. I'm surprised that she hasn't committed suicide by now. I guess that proves that she still has the will and desire to live.

Maybe in the new place someone can reach inside her mind and help her to see her life differently.

I watched it too, just breaks a person's heart. I hope they can help her. Im like the rest of you, I honestly don't see how she has lived this long. So very sad.

I saw it also. The Girl that recovered was almost in tears knowing how desperately ill that Anorexic Girl was.

The Girl is worried about the first 30 days in a hospital stay. OMG! I would think she would be relieved to get help. I imagine her stomach is the size of a pea. Surely they will have to put her on IV's.

I kept thinking that, even if the anorexic girl cannot be saved, I'm sure that the girl in recovery was given absolute resolve not to fall again. We can only hope for the best. Such a sad thing for a parent to go through...

I worked as a PT in a psychiatric floor of a hospital in FL. We had a lot of eating disorders. When they got to her stage, it wasn't impossible but very difficult to get them well. Their bodies have suffered horribly and have difficulty accepting food again. Her system is so depleted. It's going to take a long time for this poor girl to recover. I worked there for years and over those years, I saw so many that got "well" only to become repeat offenders. It's a difficult cycle. She'll need years of care. I wish her nothing but the best and I'm sure many are praying for her.

I didn't see it, but it reminds me of the severely anorexic girl that was on Oprah some time ago. Actress Tracy Gold (sp), who had also battled with anorexia, was also on the show, trying to help this girl. If I remember correctly, the girl died shortly afterwards. As Orie said, her system was too depleted by that point.

I think for many of these serious cases, it's not just trying to be thin. It's much deeper than that.

I didn't see the show yesterday, but I saw a pic of the girl. I studied anorexia a little in college and it is truly much more then getting them to eat. The mind set is hard to understand, it's a psychological problem. Getting help wouldn't be a relief for most of them-they want to be "left alone with their disease" even if it means dying. Logically, they know that can happen, but not enough to start "wanting" to eat.

I wish they wouldn't announce the weight in numbers. I know it's used to see how drastic/tragic the situation is, but I GUARANTEE someone is watching out there and sees it as a challenge and/or motivation. But I do think it's important to show what can happen when people starve themselves to possibly help younger girls who want to lose those 10 lbs by any means necessary!

i just hope she doesn't fight rehab this time...heard them say she'd been kicked out for non-complience...it's like the old addage you can lead a horse to water but you can't MAKE him drink...

I hate to say this, but I could tell by the look in her eyes and the body language that she is not really willing to go but just said what everybody wanted to hear. The fact that she was worried about the hospital stay proved it to me - she knows they will feed her by IV and you can't throw that up.
