Flood of Figs

I have lucked upon a backyard full of figs that are mine for the taking (if I beat the birds to them) Otherwise they're going to waste.

I'll make a few jars of whole fig preserves and a few more of fig jam ... maybe even a few jars of Fig Pickles (maybe)

But that'll last me and the donor a couple of years, so I went out today looking for dehydrators. I do love dried figs in many things and I need it quickly.

I looked at the American Harvest (59.95 at Bed Bath & Beyond plus I have a 20 percent off coupon.)

Any experience with this brand?

??? several sources say figs should be really ripe and suggest you let them FALL OFF THE BUSH. That means I'd not only be fighting the birds but wasps, bees and yellow jackets. Profably a few squirrels, too.

If I froze a bunch, what could I do with them
