I planted some blue princess hollies about 6'-8' apart 2 years ago. In front of them at the gaps I planted hydrangea and jap maple and leucotheue and chamaecyparis gold thread mop. my hollies are basically serving as a background. The following pic was spring 2005. I don't have a recent pic but the area is now all filled in. There is still space between the hollies but its a non issue. I'll need to take a pic this winter when all the decidious stuff is dormant to better see how it has filled in. I would guess they are now at least twice the size of this picture. In 2006 I bought three 1-gallon boys at the box store real cheap when they were in flower and moved them around to all my girls. I had an awesome display of berries, but I think it was partly due to good weather. It was a great year for all Ilex. I left two of the boys in containers so I could move them around again this year. It seemed to work. I'll be planting them in the ground this fall so will know next year if it made a difference. It won't be a close location. If necessary, I will just pick up a new boy for $5 the next spring.

ok, here are the ones I had the most handy that I pulled out. I am sure there are more to choose from, in all my bins, but there should be something here that would work. I think that with anyone of these bolder patterns (or course this is for the seat and bench cushions) they would go with either white, pink or periwinkle (depending on the choice) What say you? pictured here is 2 different colored tulle's one is purple and the other is irredescent gold. there are many other options as well as widths that I could use. This just happens to be what I have now. I also have an ivory that is about twice as wide. and one on a big bolt the pinks in these pictures (in case it's hard to tell) one is fleece, the other is a denium like fabric, and one is just cotton (the lighter one) the pink with the pattern is kind of silky, not 100% sure it's the right texture, but maybe it could work?

Yes, she's grown up way too fast, plus she's 5'8", far taller than me, taller than her Mother and obviously taller than my Mother who is 4'8" (almost). I haven't talked to the girls this morning, but they are both good girls, good students, involved in school activities, and neither have boyfriends so they just went together. They go to different schools and it was Makayla's Snowcoming, so she even made a "promposal" to KayLynn, something connected with Gray's Anatomy that I didn't understand but the girls thought it was hysterical, LOL. She was at my house a couple of days ago, Madi helped me bake bread and Maci protected their new shelter/rescue dog from my bad fat cat: Madonna, it seems like not very long ago when you joined here, and I think I first "met" you on Harvest.
