Anyone Going To Watch....

The Oscars tonight? I love watching the Red Carpet most of all but will watch the whole show even though I don"t expect too many surprises tonight.

Yes! I always watch with a friend who takes it quite seriously. I'll be given a ballot when I walk in the door. Since I haven't seen any of the nominated movies, my votes will involve even more guessing than the KT Daily Trivia Game. LOL

Sounds like fun. I did see True Grit, The King's Speech, The Black Swan and The Fighter. Wish I had seen Social Network. I'm going to a friends house tomorrow night to see The Kids Are Alright. After watching the Golden Globes and the SAG awards, I don't expect too many surprises.

I thought it was OK. I'll keep watching it. But for me, it's not in my "priority" list (the shows that I Tivo that I will not bump off if another show recording is at the same time!) It just wasn't as satisfying as, say, Rizzoli & Isles (pardon the spelling -- probably wrong), Grey's Anatomy, Private Practice...

Marilyn Sue, maybe I didn't put my coma in the right place, the 'she' I was referring to was Elizabeth. Merry maid, You don't think some of the people "grieving" for MJ wasn't doing it for publicity or profit?? And E H has always been concerned about the war, its just her opinion and mine on the subject have always been different. Maybe in a perfect world, all people would have the same value, but this isn't a perfect world, and it is my right to say my sympathies are more with the families who lost a member, fighting for our freedom, that with a self mutilating druggie, and using the excuse that his father was abusive for not growing up and "sleeping" with little boys.

I never heard of this show until Dennis Miller had him as a guest on his radio show last week -- so I tuned in that night (actually Tivo'd it and watched the next day.) I thought he was a talented impressionist - but didn't think his material was all that clean, and tuned out after 10 minutes or so. I might try it again though - thanks for the reminder.

I ordered the DVD before it was released and received it about a month ago, and so we watched it last month. I did like it quite a bit and would watch it again. He used to shop at the same boutiques in West Hollywood that I did back in the 1990s, according to the store owners I talked with. I was told he also went to bars in West Hollywood. Little Richard was also in a documentary called Rock and Roll: The Early Days, which I liked very much, especially for the Little Richard parts. It showed him putting on make-up in his dressing room, and eventually he stopped and said, "I just can't look any better than this!" For one song, he wore a jacket or vest that was covered with small square mirrors.

We were watching the red carpet show, until all of us realized the only reason we were wathing it is because it was on that channel and we all thought the other person wanted to watch it. We've since switched channels and are watching The Karate Kid (2010) version on pay per view.

I tried to watch, DH kept switching to The Weather Channel. Lots of bad weather in the Central US, tornadoes and storms. Glad I'm on the East Coast. We got rain, not snow in Long Island NY. But I got to see most of the Oscars. Speeches were boring as usual, but I liked the songs and mini-tribute to Bob Hope.
