Good (and cold!) afternoon! I've been missing in action while putting into motion plans for my immediate future. I turned in my resignation on Monday. Director refused to accept it. She's telling me that I'll be back. But, I had already decided to take time off from working, period, to finally have my knee replacement surgery. That is now scheduled for March 7th. Only one knee needs it. The other one has a kneecap problem which will be dealt with at another time. I need to drop a few pounds between now and the 7th to make recovery easier for myself. So, I've hit the SS way hard and heavy. I've been invited to a Girls' night out with some of the other teachers tonight at Gloria's, a Salvadoran and Tex-Mex restaurant. Wish me luck SS'ing there! lol Zig, it's so nice to see you here again. Jen, I'm glad your girls are on the mend. Winter is always a rough time on little ones. BJ, I admire you for being able to work in the funeral industry. It takes a very special person. Dee, sounds like you and your dh may have a very special evening coming up! Suzanne, I know the job is still hectic, but isn't it nice to have one you like? Maddie, sorry your dh is under the weather. Hope you manage to enjoy your enforced weekend at home. Hello everyone - yesterday went over my points with a late night family meal out (no one felt like cooking for obvious reasons) and I think I am about 6 points over this week on my meals. We are having a quiet day today at work and Saturday will also be quiet. So I have surrounded myself with my lovely yogurts, fruit, low/no fat chocolate biscuit bars I found in the store - wafer type things but I have be sucumbing to KitKats and going to stop this. Last night I was sooooo tired from all this family stuff, I felt weak and had a plate of sausage and mashed potato. Still not sleeping well, even with a mild sedative but things will return to normal. I am hanging in there. Planned meals today/tomorrow/sunday and hopefully for my weigh in on Monday I will recover from this week chaos. I too looked up that diet site with all the restaurants - I have resolved that walking up to a Tim Horton's donut counter is an automatic 6-8 points for the things I like. So I will be saving up my points when I visit home. They don't know what a good donut is over here! LOL to all, many thanks for the best wishes and codolences. See you there! Well now that depends, given the huge snow storm we are having I may not be able get out for groceries. Actually it might be fun to just wing it with what I have on hand!

Grateful for a safe journey yesterday moving daughter's things to storage ready for moving to AZ when she gets settled. Picked up son, travelled 60 miles, mostly on freeway, to meet daughter. Leaving a few minutes late, had no trouble finding Williams Coffee Pub, arrived about 3 min. late, she (unusually) late, after 15 min. son unable find pay phone, manager agreed to let him phone (AZ - on phone card ... connection to phone card people a local call), I saw daughter walking toward door, scooted to tell son ... caught him after about 5 rings. She has connection via computer that lets her call my landline phone from TO toll-free. She, having arrived from AZ on Christmas day, had borrowed friend's car, drove about 70 mi. from Whitby, east of TO, left car when she borrowed a friend's van, travelled about 35 miles to her former S O's family's cottage on the river, loaded her stuff, travelled 30 mi. or so to freeway, had lunch, travelled 50 or so mi. to her friend's house in Whitby, put her stuff in basement. Her friend on holiday, daughter's watching her dog and cats, she'll drive car to airport and leave it parked when she flies to AZ just before weekend, her friend to return next day, pick up car, take it home. Parking for a week or two near airport expensive (plus kennel for pets) and taking taxi from city E. of TO to airport on NW edge is expensive, too, in addition to kennel care for pets. Bruce and I drove home 140 mi. or so on freeway, stopping near it in TO for me to pick up jacket and cap forgotten on earlier visit to friend's house during returned missionaries' reunion in Nov. I expected to leave my car where we met daughter, travel in van ... but only two bucket seats, though I could arrange seat for me between - no seat-belt, so illegal: no dice. So I travelled alone in car - a bit disappointing. She's soon to be AZ resident - a long way from here. Still very grateful to have been granted extension on permission to drive, as I'd feared my licence would expire next Sat. ... with some question about whether I'd have licence to drive to take driving test a week or so after (with no driving in meantime). I'd been thinking earlier that I can live on formerly Uncle's farm as long as I have licence ... and was giving active thought to whether I could stay beyond spring (I have enough food to manage, one way or the other, till then, with occasional forays to town for supplies). Mainly to buy liquid milk ... frequently. I'm not enthused about being confined to using reconstituted.
