Hydration cubes

Has anyone tried the Bezwecken hydration cubes that consist of 1 mg estriol, cocoa butter, vitamin E and beeswax? I simply cannot afford Premarin cream at $200 a tube for my menopause dry vagina.

Any help with this problem or these items would be appreciated.

Hi,
I have Premarin, but for many reasons do not like it and how it's made. I haven't tried the cubes, but just purchased and received this salve this week: http://moonmaidbotanicals-com.3dcartstores.com/Vital-V-Wild-Yam-Salve_p_12.html

It's made with wild yam and no hormones, bioidentical or otherwise. VERY moist, I'm hoping that it will help... I also bought the cream, desperately hoping for hot flash relief...

I thought I'd chime in here. Yes, I use them. I just went through menopause (age 52) and had a horrible case of VA last year with severe vaginal pain and cystitis type symptoms--I couldn't even sit or wear pants. I eventually got better using both systemic estrogen and topical estrogens. I now use an Estring (the manufacturer has a discount coupon on their site) and I also use Estrace cream externally AND 0.5mg-1 mg estriol hydration cubes just inside vagina every other night, depending on if I am feeling any symptoms returning. The estriol cubes work wonders. From what I understand, many women don't have to use so much estrogen to get relief. You might do just fine on the estriol cubes. You shouldnt use it long term on a daily basis without also using prescription progesterone, though (relatively cheap).

You also might try DHEA suppositories. I made my own for a while when I was experimenting with different treatments. Melt some coconut oil and pour it in a measuring teaspoon. Stir in 5 mg of micronized DHEA, stick it in the freezer for 5 minutes. Use vaginally every other day.

Hello Toni! It's so good to see you back and feeling better. Nice:-) My sister and my friend actually use the ice cube method and they have had more success with their orchids than if they had been watering the old way, treating them like a houseplant, and they are in bloom. Although neither of them water the way I do or try to mimick their environment when it comes to a good rain, their orchids are still better off than just a quick watering in which the water just runs past the roots. How long their plants will flourish this way is yet to be seen, but now they want to fertilize them and asked me how too since the leaves on theirs are not quite up to par. Rose I do both. I submerge many of mine and others I will sit in a pot of warm water covering the top of the pots until I see the roots green or plump up again. My guess would be that an ice cube sitting at room temp that sits on bark, not on the roots would not drop freezing water onto the roots, but maybe room temperature water drops? Not sure. One thing is true of most orchids is that they like a thorough watering followed by quickly dried roots. Most orchids grow from trees and crevices which allows good air flow to the roots after a drenching or misty rain. If it was my orchid, I would dump the holess pot for one that allows plenty of air movement and much needed oxygen between the roots. Do something for me.? Soak that clear plastic pot once the roots have dried in warm water for about 5 minutes and tell me what happens to the roots on the inside. What do they look like? That's why many sell clear pots, so you can see what is going on with them while the roots actually grab sunlight as needed on many orchids. to handle the water issue, you could make a wick from felt from the fabric store. Place something in a 1020 tray that will raise the blocks at least an inch above the bottom of the tray. Use something that won't rot or wear away. Then place a piece of felt over that so that the ends fall down to the bottom of the tray. Fill the tray with water, halfway up the side of whatever you used to set the seedlings on, and watch the felt wick the water up. If your block mix is good, this version of bottom watering will keep your blocks well watered the whole time they are there.

Thanks for the well wishes, HU-536588320. Sorry to hear about your alternative doc. My wife had a scare years ago, while she was using Prempro (or Premarin - forgot which.) Doc said she had a non-atypical hyperplasia in one of her breasts. Scared the crap out of us both. She then discovered Dr. John Lee's books, and that's why she started using natural progesterone cream. We learned about terms like unopposed estrogen, etc. Quite a journey that launched us both onto. I think you're right about DHEA being like a building block. I think some of the books we read called it a precursor...so instead of a woman deciding that her body needs more estriol, or estrone, or estradiol, or progesterone...if she supplements with some DHEA...then the body will turn that into whatever it needs. That's why I was so eager for my wife to try it some time ago. So, I was bummed to find out that she didn't respond well to it. It's been a while, but I think it irritated her tissue. I did some research, and turned out the provider or manufacturer of this particular DHEA suppository used a base that contained glycol (maybe even ethelyne glycol - been too long ago.) Well duh - that's what's in antifreeze! So the questions I asked and reading I did seemed to suggest it wasn't the DHEA my wife had a reaction to - it was the base they used. Not long afterwards, my wife came across the bezwecken cubes. They didn't bother her. So I read up on it a bit, trying to understand why she reacted favorably to that, but not the DHEA suppositories. Well surprise, surprise - the base used by the hydration cubes was kinder or more gentle - didn't contain that crap glycol chemical, lol. I wondered if we kept looking, and just tried a different supplier or manufacturer of DHEA suppositories...that also used a kinder or more gentle base...how would she respond to it? But since the hydration cubes did the trick...I guess we never pursued it any further. Wow - thanks for passing on the tip that, the DHEA does exactly for you what my wife and I are looking for. :-) Maybe I should get that recipe from you for the DHEA after all! :-) You know, you can spend a lot of time studying and researching all this stuff...but the human body is so complex and interesting...it still surprises you. It remains to be seen what kind of approach this OB/GYN will come up with. The first step was for my wife to get an ultrasound. I think that's in like a couple of weeks.

Thanks. Didn't consider dwc, mitchnc, as I wanted to start as simply and inexpensively as possible for a first try. My only investment adding to what I already had on hand was a new $1 BPA-free container, and I finally got to open up a bag of CaN (to supplement the complete, but low-range Ca, fertilizer) which I'd bought for about $5 a while back. Although they were certified tested, when I try again I'm going to use a different batch of seed that I have on-hand - in the remote case that the seed harbored any pathogens - and I'll attempt to encourage better air movement. (Besides checking the water level a bit more often :)

I am 51, hysterectomy 3 yrs ago and have recently been miserable with VA to the point where my gyn said he had never seen a case so bad. He put me on vagifem and I have been taking for 2 wks everynight and still hurt. Its like my bladder and everything "down there" is in spasms. Not every second but pretty much daily. I really do not see the Vagifem working much. I just ordered today HYDRATION CUBES AND CARLSON SUPPOSITORIES W/VITAMIN E. I read lots of good things about this so I truely hope it helps. Has anyone had any luck with any of this?

I commented on that other forum, but it appears you are following this one, so I shall ask my question here:

As stated (other forum) I am familiar with Dr Lees work, and have had success with progesterone treatment when experiencing menopause. Just when I believed that was behind me, I am hit with atrophy.

Which progesterone cream does you wife use, and what is the dose/amount.

Dear axixic,

Sorry if I missed a comment or question from you.

But she's used several. The one she's using currently is Now Goods Progesterone Cream (though I believe she's also used one by Life-Flo.) She likes using the ones that have a pump, so there's no wondering if you're using the right amount. You just press down on the top, and it dispenses a set, measured, constant amount. Hope that helps.

Hi James,

That's ok on the delayed response... I am just happy to have another review of creams and inserts. I noticed that Life-Flo product and the Now Foods progesterone. That comes out to 20 mg per dose, and that may be just about right. I placed an order for SmokeyMountain progesterone and estriol (two different containers), I wanted to do a minimal dose, much less than a pump, to start off with. Prior to beginning with estriol cream, I'd like to do testing of my estrogen and progesterone levels.

Which estriol (if any) is your wife currently using?

Does she still use the cubes?

What is the dosing that she went with for that estriol (or other) product, and has she run a test to see what that estriol level is?

Testing is always a good idea. After we both read (and heard) what Dr. John Lee had to say, regarding testing, she had a saliva assay done. That's been quite a while ago, and I don't remember much about it. But she's not done any testing lately.

To avoid double posting (i.e., I think I responded to another thread) I'll just say that she is using the hydration cubes, once a week (in addition to using Vitamin E suppositories once a week, and then 1 hour before sex) and that combination is working great.

She's used the Life-Flo Estriol before (the kind with a pump) and used it several times a week, while she was also using the hydration cubes and the vitamin E, but now she's not using the Life-Flo Estriol at all. Hope that helps.

For others reading this board/faced with Vaginal Atrophy:

At least for me, nothing moves quickly, in regard to healing Vaginal Atrophy. I most likely would be able to engage in intimacy, if the opportunity struck. However since trying a dilator (which confirmed narrowing and dryness), I am now aware of this sneaky little challenge of VA. I am using a vaginal moisturizer, which (like many) has claims to reverse VA. If that, the dilator (and to be added in a couple of weeks bio-identical progesterone) fall through, then I shall test for my estrogen levels. According to Dr. Lee, Atrophy is a sign of estrogen deficiency (By the way estrogen of any type, should never be taken without progesterone), and I may indeed have to do a minimal dose 2x week of estriol, once those tests come back.

While I am not eager to go on any estrogen, not even this safer, weaker estriol, I am not going to be in pain due to irritation that dryness was presenting. I've also heard of the Vulva shrinking over time due to VA. There is a point where a fraction of the estriol, may at least maintain what I have, while being comfortable and infection free down there. I have not had the pleasure of an infection yet, but the dryness had been presenting irritation, the type of itch and pain that you feel before a Vaginal Bacterial infection. Is that how I want to live my years? I should think not!

So I have reordered a book I believed I didn't need anymore...

Dr. John Lee's. For the next few weeks, I will use the special Vaginal inserts which are by NeuEve, and they are indeed having a moisturizing effect which lasts for a good 4 days. Let's see what happens. I already shared that information on the NeuEve with a friend, and she and her hubby had painless intimacy... Lucky she has a husband who is interested! For all you VERY lucky ladies that have an interested partner, that may be something to try.

Here's my thinking. I want to maintain my health. I may indeed find intimacy again, and in the meantime I deserve to be pain free and comfortable.

The above is just my way of sharing, and not just taking from this message board, for we are truly all in this (life) together and should share.

I was wondering if anyone has experienced weight gain from the hydration cubes. I have been using them for about a year and love them, but am gaining weight when nothing else has really changed.
